In the portable version, the library manager does all the hard work for you. You only need to put your wallpaper in the library folder and name it "wallpaper"

Nothing special to it. Install both. Use both. Depends on your DAW on how to differentiate. In Reaper, I rename one with "P" at the end to know it's portable.

Does not install. Put the whole file in a place on disk other than the usual "vstplugins" and tell ableton the path where to look for it. That's all.

the new library mangement is bypassed in the portable, it add a missing part, after Komplete Kontrol & Maschine integration not done.

the half of the functionality is missing.
you should consider it.

For non Komplete Kontrol / maschine users, the portable is perfect, fast and less resource hungry! It's customizable library manager is highly optimized for when using it from a usb on a laptop with a select number of libraries, which is why portable is better and why I value it for those applications.
Fake people have an image to maintain_Real people don't give a shit.
