Zebra Legacy: Zebra goes wild!
Our workhorse synthesizer Zebra2 has always been a firm favourite in sound design circles, especially in Hollywood. Many new features have been added over the years, with recent versions including native support for Apple Silicon and VST3. This latest round doesn't add any new features, however, but actually offers a whole lot more...

NEW in v2.9: All 500+ factory presets have been refurbished and improved with X/Y assignments. They are fully tagged and NKS-ready
4 powerful wavetable oscillators (16 waves) with integrated spectral effects
1, 2, 4, or 11 times unison, with detune and stereo spread
Polyphonic (up to 16 voices), duophonic or mono and legato modes
4 assignable X/Y pads

4 FM oscillators with 8 alternative waveforms (not only sine)
4 regular filters with 23 different modes
4 cross-modulation filters (XMF)
12-slot modulation matrix with depth modulation from a second source
Flexible signal routing: 4×12 main patching grid, 3×6 effects patching grid

4 syncable multi-stage envelope generators (MSEG) with up to 32 segments each
4 per-voice LFOs plus 2 global LFOs
21 stereo effects: 2× chorus/flanger, 2× delay, 2× EQ, 2× compressor, 2× reverb and more
Resizable UI from 70% to 200%
MIDI learn page and editable list
NEW in v2.9.3: Support for Oddsound MTS-ESP

Hello there(sorry for reply, just wanted to grab more attention)

I have currently about 29k presets for Zebra 2 but I need help to organize it. After they are organized i will release them.

Things already done:
1. Converted all old .fxp to .h2p
2. Check duplicates
3. 22k presets already organized
4. Last legacy banks integrated

So what needs to be done:
About 7k presets that needs to be organized one by one(its easy process just drag and drop inside Zebra 2). I think best way to categorize is just simply determining by ear if its lead, pluck, keys, etc(you could go deeper using sub category and determing if its "analogue" or "digital" etc if you would like...)

However only one person can work on it at the same time(i dont know how to merge .presetdatabase files). So please if you are interested helping send me PM and i will explain more.

Thank you.

Every R2R release that is "Regged" works as it is, so yes, is always available for both platforms.

Delete com.u-he.Zebra2.user.txt from u-he\Zebra2.data\Support folder, maybe file have the hidden attribute so change it!
Use eg Kushview Element as VST2/3 host, or any other.

The R2R SerialIndex tool has nothing to do with it!

One can edit that text file and put another name and serial in it.

I guess it is related to the screen scaling and resolution of your system. I had the same issue. The buttons are actually not missing but are not in the visible range of the installer window.

Just play around with the resolution and open the installer again.

Just press Enter on the keyboard and the installer will go on. It's the UI scaling on Windows higher than 100% that messes up the R2R installers.

Yep, that's related to the scaling settings. If you don't code your installer to define different scaling settings, specific elements won't show correctly. Since this is a pretty time consuming task, no one does this because it's easier to tell the users to temporarily set the scaling to 100%.

And that's what you have to do. Set Scaling to 100% and you'll see every button.
You can set it back to your previous setting afterwards or you could try what setting also works for you (maybe 150% or so).

where to find "com.u-he.MFM2.user.txt" on mac?
  Member 14.01.2017 1 15

...not "com.u-he.Zebra2.user.txt".(does not exist on Mac)) but: "com.u-he.Zebra2.plist"
On macOS delete this file:
Mac HD/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/u-he/com.u-he.Zebra2.plist
same with MFM2, only change pluginname
dann kann man neu Registrieren.

What I don't understand is why there is no uninstaller neither for zebra nor for MFM2. Even with install them with Revo Unistaller doesn't create an uninstall option.

Is anyone else getting a Sym Link error when installing Zebra293?

"createSymLink failed with error 1: Incorrect function."

I've tried installing as admin.

Edit: I fixed it, so on the off chance this happens to you- I reinstalled and changed the data folder location to "manual" and moved it to C:\VstPlugins\u-he like the majority of other u-he product's data folders on my PC. Now the SymLink works correctly.

You dont need to change location as it creates a link in the Vst3 folder to the first part even if you get that error message.

Wow this is a big boi hell of a gift. As much from u-he (all the soundsets for 99€, wtf) as from R2R.
Zebra soundsets are among the most impressive soundsets I've ever heard... really, if you do not know them, give them a listen, try the beast, you'll understand why this synth is such valued from pro sound designers and in the cinema industry.

This smells like an approaching Zebra 3 announcement, na ?

This seems to include the HZ version innit, so this is my perfect new year gift.

Eternally grateful to those reversing geniuses.
Keep us dreaming please ! LLR2R

I definitely agree Zebra has some of the best soundsets, particularly Howard Scarr (HS).
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem Z3 will be here any time soon which is why they released this. It's pretty much the "Chinese Democracy" of synths at this point. I can't help to think if they didn't have to waste so much time whenever Apple decides to break everything for x.x.1 update it would've been out years ago.
