I have Kontakt v7.1.3 (r4e) and Kontakt v6.7.1 (bobdule) installed in parallel and both are working just fine. However, I can't get Komplete Kontrol v2.8.1 (R2R) to use Kontakt 7 instead of Kontakt 6. KK finds all the relevant VSTs (VST2 and 3 of Kontakt 6 as well as VST3 of Kontakt 7) and the tick mark to use the latest version of all NI plugins is checked within KK's settings dialog. Because of this problem I can't use Kontakt's Factory Library 2 inside KK. Did anyone else experience this as well? If so, is there a solution for this?

OK, answering my own question in the hopes of helping others with the same problem: My VST3 files have been installed to subfolders (named after their vendors) located within the system's standard VST3 folder. (The VST3s were not moved after their initial installation. Instead I wrote the appropriate paths to the Windows registry beforehand and NI's installer used that information to place the VST3 files. So theoretically a very clean process.) While Komplete Kontrol's plugin scan does find and list these VST3s in the preferences dialog, they apparently cannot actually be loaded into Komplete Kontrol. So all libraries but Factory Library 2 were falling back to the VST2 version of Kontakt 6. I now reinstalled all three NI products mentioned above, choosing the standard VST3 installation path for all of them and everything seems to be working fine. Too bad though about the folder structure. I do like to organize my VSTs well in order to simplify trouble-shooting.

I've always wondered if giving Komplete Kontrol a go is worth it if I were to get myself a Native Instruments Midi Controller - they integrate almost seamlessly I'm told.. Does anyone know if the hardware and a cracked software like this would work?

That is probably your anti-virus doing its thing. We usually disable anti-virus while running R2R's keygen.
