Their site certificate expired today. It shouldn't ever, but it can and does happen to top 100 net sites on rare occasions, too. It's a case of either not marking the calendar, or doing so and having too many liquid lunch Fridays on the job. Kidding about the cause, but pretty much that, more or less give or take.

TCD, does an install prog like this generally put anything in the registry, edit anything else, do anything apart from copying/installing files?

If you are talking of V.R's release, he or they do well for the products. When it requires it, say for instance Sugar Bytes as an example, entires are made to the registry, necessarily and rightfully so. Same exact thing happens with something like Shaperbox from MoCHA or TCD. It's not just a choice made, but rather a condition for the software to work.

To answer your question as fully and completely honest as possible: V.R does an amazing job and beyond. The one thing that might be a little funky is sometimes the certificate is installed for something. I am sure they have their reasons. Or very long ago, one of my libraries was deleted purposefully from an installer, but that's how they rolled on that release. It was one of 1,000. More? Maybe, all this time. It's well clear enough it wasn't from malicious intent, for sure. I probably ended up with more than I had from what they added in the next release, anyway. heh

Honest opinion: V.R = gold standard as others around are too.

LFOpro doesn't work, still in demo. Also the developer is written as "My Company" not Anarchy Audioworx.

Just to come back with my opinion. I download then delete cause I thought too many plugin why need this what seems like just another crap bundle. but then decide to download again for fun. surprise surprise its actually pretty good and useful. there is a lot to test so just starting with it but so far good.
