Korneff Audio Echoleffe Tape Delay v1.0.0-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2022.12.09 | 45.13 MB
It’s a tape delay, a tape saturator, and a tube preamp. But mostly, it sounds amazing and it’s really fun! It's everything you've wanted in a tape delay plug-in, and more!

The Echoleffe Tape Delay is an audio plug-in for your DAW that gives you the sounds and spirit of a fabulous, all-tube tape delay from 1961. It adds effortless character and vintage mojo to your recordings and mixes. But it’s TONS more than just a tape delay.

Three different operational modes give you delay effects, tape saturation and a tube preamp. You have to hear this thing. You’ll poop the console.

Tape Delay Mode
The ETD is a fantastic tape delay simulation with unmatched versatility and sonics. From pristine vocal echoes to outer space flange effects, the ETD is a tool that brings out your creativity.

Tape Saturation Mode
Tape Saturation mode switches off the delays and turns the ETD into a dedicated tape saturator. Add a gentle warmth or completely overload the signal, and adjust wow and flutter for unique, modulated effects.

Tube Preamp Mode
The ETD’s tube preamp simulator adds a gorgeous warmth and richness to any signal you pass through it. No delay, no saturation, just pure tube preamp glow... or crank up the gain and make things explode.

A witch says,

* No iLok Driver installation is required to run.
* Our release loads faster and uses less memory than legit version.

Can never get enough tape and dub delays. Thanks for the share, wasn't ever aware Korneff made this.

If this thing can really do "pristine", then hells yes. Will give it a test run!

Sounds amazing, but my god does it eats your CPU alive

is it really the real deal? have you compared to other similar tape delay VSTs?
be kind :)

It shows 60% on performance monitor in S1 6(at 96k session though...).
If you mean soundwise, then yes. It does sound absolutely amazing. But it's not just delay, it's a lot of things and the all sound great. I would suggest to try delay section with the rest of it(reverb diffusion, "age" and so on).

I hope this kind of CPU hit is just a bug or something, because it's barely usable with this amout of power required.

i7 3770k win10
It's old, I know, but it works just fine with all plugins, 60% is not normal even for this CPU.

Ok thanks. I will see how it goes on 12th gen cpu Win10 and report back.

Works perfectly normal here on win 10 ableton 11. I used 3 instances in a full mix only at around 30% CPU. I like some of the sounds too. Thanks.

It's a solid 22% on my i5-7500 on Win 7. Gfx card acceleration makes no diff, one way or the other.

Sounds sublime though

On the upside, the Korg Modwave uses nothing at all. I was dreading it after the way the Opsix and the Wavestate really hammered my CPU -- early releases being unusable for me. But this one is great. Modwave with an Echoleffe on top takes CPU up to 30% at max.

Defo a S1 (or WiN 10) prob.
Same proc & SR, WiN 7, Reaper ~ 7% (and slightly more with GPU acc).

Thanks guys for feedback. It seem it's very different in different DAWs. But good to hear it's DAW issues and plugin itself can take near to nothing from CPU.

By the way, did you guys try it in 96k session or 44.1/48?

Interesting that this guy is tesing the plugin on S1 and has no problems whatsoever. It's Mac though. It seems I have some local problems...

Also, I tried to drop sample rate to 44.1 and now instead of 60 it's 28%.

The unit it is based on : Klemt Echolette

Video demo
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

You have to hear this thing. You’ll poop the console.

If only there was a video of CLA pooping his console.

Thanks funtime.

Hi. Did you try to enable GPU Acceleration in plugin settings? What DAW do you use? I head performance issues with some plugins, (new Waves SSL) going berserk in StudioOne and Cubase not to mention Ableton, with more than 60 - 70% with just one instance of plugin, while REAPER sliceing it withot a sweat with less than 4%. Also on vary old PC.

Sorry on my bad English.

As people mentioned above, it's probably S1's problem. Guess I'll have to wait for either S1 or the plugin's update.

Thank goodness for this. I am getting bored with tape delay plugins that emulate tape delays which make use of solid-state electronics. It's also based on a 1960's unit, so it will be of great use for my client's solo project band.
