Much thanks to JustFun598 for the previous release!
In this version, there is no modal screen to click
when initiated, and you just go on now, instead.
So for all intents and purposes, it is a PROPER
version.

Hello! Thank you for this release, but the activation method indicated in the instructions does not work, I did it several times, uninstalled it cleanly, cleaned everything, installed it again, followed the instructions exactly again, and still - every time a new plugin is added, it asks for activation again. I checked the folder specified in the instructions - the license file is not created after the activation process. The system is very fresh, this plugin was not installed until today, what could be the reason?

the key is created but erased again when opening the non-activation plugin.
can't get it to activate though

Rest assured, the process works perfectly, as I just did it on a number of machines. If you have Blue Cat's Patchwork, that helps to make really quick work of it.

Install. Rename
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Signum Audio\SKYEDynamicsStereo.vst3

to have .vst3BAK extension.

Place the vst3 file from ACTIVATION folder to temporarily replace it. Load in Patchwork or DAW. Click Activate. It can go fast or take 5 seconds. That creates the folder %appdata%\SkyeDynamicsStereo and also the file inside of it, SkyeDynamicsStereo.key

Now, you can just delete the VST3 you copied over by hand, and rename the .vst3BAK to .vst3.

It can all be done with the VST2 instead, which is also included.

I hear what you guys are saying and I'm not trying to discount it. I think it likely that one minor thing could have been misunderstood or something like that. Let's see. Maybe others will say it too.

On first thought, I think your DAWS are handling it somehow funky with relation to both VST3/2, and confusing the process. Just fire up in Blue Cat's or only install VST3 to start it all off. When done, then install all you want of it.

The reason it works is because those are the "old" permanently installed files that have been rockin' since JustFun598 released it. This release in post provides the GUI which never asks to be activated again, unlike the original which needed it every launch.

One other word, which was not checked on but can only help: Firewall, firewall, firewall.

No, it definitely does not work, I have already tried in every possible way, and still, every time a new instance is added, it requires activation. Exactly the same thing happened in the previous distribution of the same version 1.0.2, but it was specifically written there that this would happen. And here it seems that "permanent activation" was promised, but it does not work. After a total cleaning of all traces and folders, now the license is saved in the specified folder, but after the first activation, this file is deleted, so that the next time the plugin is added, it does not even respond to the "Activation" button. Thank you for the feedback. It seems to have done some good for others! Now you too, hopefully.

Ok so I followed the instructions and had the same problems as the guys above, but I finally got it to work perfectly / the activation is now permanent.

I had to go beyond the instructions, but here is the two things I did to 'fix' this on my W10 system with latest updates:

1) Change the properties of the key file in \AppData\Roaming to "Read-only".

2) I feel like this is optional, but I did it for safe measure. I blocked the dev site in my hosts file.

Good luck guys! & thank you TCD + JF598, rock on!

edit: my DAW was already blocked in my firewall, but I was still having issues.

This is cool. It is such an extreme given that DAWS and other VST hosts should be firewallled that sometimes, it can slip the mind when instructing. If this is not so automatic in a user's mind, it must be instead, for greatest success overall with everything. The point: If someone ran this and it contacted manufacturer, the config on the machine is wrong. :) Rock on. Glad it goes for ya. It will never have a problem and perm activated. No auth screen at start! :)

In other news, TCD will keep a greater lookout for stuff like this. It always always "just worked" for me since JF598 release and it is because I have my machines set well.

It is the very same reason redirects are often used for URLs in TCD (complete, no other team involved) releases.

TCD, you mean I have to go to Windows Firewall or Defender settings every time and mess with all that jazz and screens? No. FAB is a GUI for Windows' functionality. Add the whole folder you are dealing with always, and BAM. Put the DAWS, Patchwork, etc...!)

Those setting up new Windows installs on a machine might consider starting it as a Whitelist, meaning, everything cannot connect to the internet unless specifcally allowed. FAB can help with that too, easily.

Now since the installing-well part is out of the way, a word or two about the plugin itself. It has not been used here much in the past, but since it is claiming to be so transparent, the first order of business for it here will be when there is online video that should go to archives, non-musical. Like a tutorial video or whatever stuff like that. It is how it is planned on being used and tested here, on not such critical or important things. I bet it is quite good from gut instinct.

Thx for your extensive explanations. :)

Sometimes i need to get online to (ReasonStudios) because of the licence manager who updates the licence everytime a new Rack extension or update is installed.

Besides blocking hosts in the Hosts file, is the a way to block specific plugins (.dll's) via firewall or are they just using the unblocked Reason channel to call home?

You're welcome. Despite common belief, a .dll cannot go to any network anything on its own. It needs a layer to reach the network stack, i.e.: The executable that called it. So it boils down to blocking or not blocking the (.exe)cutable in question. It's why you cannot "block" a .dll in the manner thought of, because there is literally nothing to block. I am sure specialized software can more easily than not be written to have awareness of specific .dlls an executable called and treat each accordingly to a rule-based system, but off the top of my head, I am not aware of such.

My Phoenix Pro Gamer Win11 build came with shortcuts to turn the firewall on and off. I usually did things the hard way and didn't care, but it is extra cool and I use it daily. Here is a link. Included, is also a Windows Update on/off switch. Try placing the extracted folders here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Heads up though: Win10 might be different and it might not work for that, or a different build. It works well for mine, however. The Windows Update one works for all Windows. The firewall one probably not, because they changed the name, you know Defender functionality vs. Windows Firewall. I am sure you can find a way for your OS if you really wanted to have a switch.

Don't forget, there is always services.msc.

Works perfect; Cubase 12.0, Windows 10 21H2 - Thank you TCD (& JustFun598)!

For anyone having problems... Always use a firewall and maybe set the .key file to read only.
