Thanks R2R. I have noticed that Symphony and Symphony 3D both work with surround formats, with the latter addressing formats with a higher channel count. What I am wondering is if Symphony is also designed to work in normal stereo.

Yes, the "3D" plugins switch to the type of channel they're inserted on - mono, stereo, quad etc up to 7.1.6!

Edit: Surround is a typical x.1 application (what was before ATMOS, so 2.1 up to 7.1). x.1.y is the modern Dolby ATMOS format, which is pretty much the future of immersive or surround sound. In Protools (and many other commercial applications for music) people use 7.1.2 beds.
