does this version has even more presets than the stock version that R2R usually releases? or what is the difference between them?

It crashes when loading almost all presets, user or factory, .exe and plug-ins. Anyone else?

I think maybe AVX is worked into this somehow. It starts well and ok, but when it needs a (newly-coded-into-it) AVX function, it fails. wtf Native?

This doesn't make any sense at all in any way for them to do this, especially with the change log saying the update helps older systems:

I just had a long night of downloading and reorganizing my plugin library, can someone report back and let us know if it works well? Specifically for studio one.

I have found that the crashes are because of SSE4.1 instructions set being applied, and I don't have that, either. It is a very tedious job, but I already have the standalone .exe running perfectly well after numerous patches and "broken" for my machine code removed. More to come, perhaps, but Native Instruments should "fix" this to make it how it was.

Just out of sheer curioisty, anyone else with a machine like me and wanting it fixed? heh (Like I said, it is here, already.)

I am jumping through the patches like a maniac, and no crashy crashy any more. :) I had to go the extra mile to make it so Raum patches work well too, after the fact. heh

Yep NI wants you to have the newset OS installed (win 10 and 11) along with recent CPUs supporting AVX and newest set of cpu instructions.

im not really sure if AVX is even worth it. i read a lot about how much worse these vector calculations are via AVX.

Guess it time to invest into a new computer?

I wanted to release this (all formats), but after thorough testing, it fails here or there because of "memory can't be read" error, due to missing instructions before it or leading up to it. It doesn't sound "good" and indeed it is not, but all in all it works in all you want to do and doesn't fail. I tried to rid these final problems too, but at this part, it was too much for the program to handle lol.

All in all, it IS working 99.9% but even if it fails on one patch (and it does,) I won't release it.

I have an AVX machine, a 2nd gen i7 S part (S is for mobile) 4 core, 8 thread, in an Ultra Small Form Factor box and that thing rocks for what it is. So does this Xeon 775 socket machine, even more so overall, because I have proper video card, 2 SSDs and 4 large HDD. Not replacing it any time soon and in fact, I replaced the motherboard only months ago from a physical failure caused by a floating fan I had inside. Don't ask, heh. It was rigged because I didn't have proper fan for the case, and it caused a short and failure of a regulator (which I intend to replace one day when bored, from another broken board I have lying around.)

Yes, I have a proper rear case fan now too and nothing is "rigged" any more. My power supply, Rosewill Hive 550S, sits on top of the PC case. It likes it there very much. Coooooooool! :) (There was a time for more than 5 years I ran with 2 PSUs, because each was too weak to do it all on its own. hahahahah)

I would absolutely love a shiny brand new beast rig, but it isn't happening any time soon. Rock on!

i made an alternative version using the previous unlock and the original setup.

there is one unlock key difference, you can still check it.
one of my machines needed to delete AppData before a new install to get it launching in standalone.

i don't know if VR missed this key or if they updated the fix. both seems to work but maybe not with older user presets.

I hear that. Well, I never had a single launch error here in all testing. The only problem it ever had was with loading patches, mostly those with Raum and Freak. (Which I fixed almost in their entirety, as said above. :) ) The reason for this is the new SSE4.1 instructions, namely,

PBLENDVB xmm1, xmm2/m128, <XMM0>, opcode 66 0F 38 10 /r (5 Byte strings)
BLENDVPS xmm1, xmm2/m128, <XMM0>, opcode 66 0F 38 14 /r (5 Byte strings)
BLENDVPD xmm1, xmm2/m128, <XMM0>, opcode 66 0F 38 15 /r (5 Byte strings)
ROUNDPS xmm1, xmm2/m128, imm8, opcode 66 0F 3A 08 /r ib (6 Byte strings)
INSERTPS xmm1, xmm2/m32, imm8, opcode 66 0F 3A 21 /r ib (6 Byte strings)

This 6.2.4 is borked from the factory oven, in all the above regards, so this is not V.R fault. :) Native Instruments, please revert this unnecessary change. P.S. After my testing, I find it possible (the word means possible, heh) that as is is a regression in performance from 6.2.3.

Now if I really really wanted to, I bet I can lift the "old" instructions from 6.2.3 and put them in 6.2.4 instead. Too much work for no reason or benefit or gain.

As I just discovered this moment, the 6.2.3 version has SSE 4.1 instructions too but works perfectly here without tweaking.

Conclusion: Perhaps V.R fix mistakenly or inadvertently disabled some type of branching for lesser machines, like mine. It would make sense as Native is seemingly trying to make it good for older machines as per their changelog.

I will try your alternate version for the heck of it, if it is availble. I will see. :)

Latest test: I have good 6.2.3 here working, and good 6.2.4 working on another machine well 100% - when I try on here, loading the other machine new VST3, it fails the same way. So from factory oven is the problem, almost for sure.

In demo mode, license completely removed, it suffers the same way on this machine. Definite conclusion: Nothing at all to do with V.R fix and 100% from Native.

Thanks VR and Mordi. works like a charm on windows11, Ableton, reaper. I really love use Natives instr. Fxs dsp. Sounds warm and could be experimental in any source.

hi,i just installed this,hadnt read comments.
im on windows 10 not AVX
crashed when loading a preset in standalone.
i then read comments and seen it happened to a few.
i didnt see a fix,although seen someone got it working.
is there a workaround for me?
