With no release, I was able to install this software. I think you need to be a super man, or a hero to be able to use this software. hope there will soon be a One-Click install. just say go an install in drive c:/ and done!

R2R release was the fastest i have installed, once the certificate was installed (15mins googling how to do that), it was installed with lightspeed after that. Well you need to google a bit ...

You maybe choose the wrong OS then?

i have the 2r one and it kills me to say that it hangs freezes and lags and stutters. happened with me twice. so i guess i will wait for stable version of this. also no need to start vr 2r thing here. both are great. you are a decade old here bro. this is the least we should do. also no offense in anyway.

and the VR doesnt do that? i have the R2R and my cubase is freezing A LOT. on quitting and also randomly.

The legit version (.10) does that, too. (eg) When you load a project, annoying af. At least it doesn't freeze when making a new project, now. Quitting "freeze" (just takes a long time to shutdown) has always been a problem. They're not called Steinbug without deserving the name!

yes it must be. because r2r is a true emu it should behave like legit cubase. so all the bugs like freezing etc. should be from the legit version and not the crack. thats why i cant imagine that the vr version doesnt freeze up..

BUT then again as the freezing always happen when cubase shows "checking license" i wonder if it IS actually related to a not perfect emu of the license..

Cubase always had a lot of hangs and glitches, it's why I moved to Studio One initially (then that also started having bugs and crashes) so finally moved to Pro Tools 12.5 hd (Audio Utopia's release) and have never had such a rock solid music making environment (that also bounces, exports and freezes WAAAY faster than cubase and Studio one). I also waaay prefer the PT interface (big edit screen) over the multi window cubase mess or the multipaine studio one overload. Once you learn PT it's the fastest and cleanest of the lot (esp with key shortcuts). Also the colours CAN be set to be the best looking (light interface) not too much saturation and med brightness. SLICK AF!

Never really had any stabilty problems with my legit 10 and 11 pro. i might update one day just to check if the stabilty is the same like the R2R version. it just frozed on me again after letting it idle for 2 hours or so. again its frozen and taskmanager says "licenses beeing checked" not responding.

Im on version .20 right now.

Never used Protools but installing the latest Audioutopia release (12.5) is on my to do list as i got a jaycen joshua protools Mix Template i want to check out..

So I thought ill install nuendo while cubase is frozen up and it just got where the process bar is about 1/3 green on starting the installation programm.
Tried Groove Agent 5.1 and Spectra Layers and all behave the exact same.
Cant install any of them while cubase is still frozen on checking licenses..
if i quit cubase then it works..

That makes me think like it got something to do with cubase silk emu again..
like something is not right with the emu..

ill try to check with process monitor if i can find anything. but its not so easy because cubase just seem to freeze up on me when i let it sit idle for some time.
When i start and close after i worked for it for some time and not let it sit it, it never freezes and also quits flawless.

After checking in Process Manager it actually seems to be connected to R2R in some way.

what i get in process monitor is

also create files query directory close files and file change names in Mozilla Firefox Profile Folder in Appdata and Appdata and Roaming Root folder all from cubase12.exe

and cubase is installed legit from their site 12.020 newest version and then running with R2R silk emu..

I know thats not an official R2R website. its the site they had beef with and at a certain time they made you block it in your host file before you could even install plugins. i never even went to the site. my only site i get audio stuff from is here. since ever. i never got any audioplugins from anywhere else.

why do i get tcp connect and disconnect to that website from cubase12.exe and trying to access mozilla files? maybe its from old plugins from r2r that try to find out if im trying to access that site? they were paranoid at that time with that paarticular site. but i doubt they would be using such abstruse methods.. but still process monitor shows me such a behaviour from cubase before it freezes.

i took out those blocks in my hosts file which i still had and see what that does. that website doesnt even exits anymore.

and if you had read my posts you would know i use legit cubase 12.020 from steinberg site clean with the silk emu from R2R which they state in their txts its possible. And it should if the protection is a true emu..so yeah thats that.

Note: R2R Cubase 12 users can just go to the Steinberg download site and download the .20 update. Then uninstall your current R2R Cubase 12 version using something like Revo Uninstaller and then run the new update (.20). It updated fine here with no issues.

I tried that and now i cant start it anymore. Says "No Valid License found"
EDIT: I installed Steinberg Activation Manager and Put the R2R license-engine-access.dll inside the folder of activation manager as described in the R2R.txt for the silkemu. Now it works.

And that is what i was about to say days ago, R2R emu is a true emu, so you can install legit apps with it, but like always people are not reading and not understanding the info... So if that simple task was hard, i am asking myself how do they make music....

R2R's emu is indeed great. I just installed Nuendo 12 without issue by just downloading it from Steinberg's download site and then just running the installer.

My cubase 12 R2R works just fine but it freezes when quitting. First release did not although on each boot, it said it quitted unexpectedly and asked about preferences.
Other than that...no issue whatsoever.

My Cubase R2R also freezes on quitting but also randonmly mostly after i have it open for a longer time but dont work in it. then it freezes. when i check Task Manager it seems to hang on "checking License" and is "not responding"..
Im on Win10
