Is it somehow possible to use the official Steinberg Download Assistant to download this stuff and use it in cracked Cubase 12 R2R? If I download this 21GB via free mirrors from here, it will last 3 weeks!

i download all content a week ago with vr release, now unistall vr and install r2r but content works fine (was installed in a different hard drive) and no problem with licenses . . .

I tried to do it using Steinberg Download Assistant, but it said that product needs activation. I think it's much safer and better to use R2R's content with the cracked cubase

I don't get Steinberg. Cubendo has been unpatched since 2009 or something and they change the protection sceme. I mean, ok, I get it, computers of the future will be waterproof without any headphone jack, usb port or whatsoever.
But getting rid of the elicenser now was a bad idea (good for us though).
I'm wondering if it is meant to be like that, having more unlegit cubases out there to have more users and therefore having paying users when they go pro...
but if it was 'oh fuck, who would have guessed they'd patch us' they're dumb as fuck.

I still don't understand the reason behind removing the dongle. They should have known that the cracking was coming or perhaps they don't give a heck about it anymore since they already have a lot of loyal cilents keeping updating the software.

Sooner or later they will invent another protection mean. Maybe Steinberg wants people to get used to use the ultimate new cracked Cubase before inventing a new protection. I smell some marketing strategies.

You might be right. Nuendo 1.0 had no protection at all at a time where most cubase cracks were highly unstable (those were the pre radium times)

I would think that Cubase in general is not a "fancy" product anymore.. its more of an "if you used it over the last decade and your studio is about it" Must have. The dongle is also a bit a pain in the a** for the steinberg support team / client service. The GUI also indicates what they "not" want be - fancy, young, and fresh. Same with Ableton, i think. They all have their loyal clients for sure and always will and if the "no need for a Dongle" anymore, can get them a few more Cubase Pro buyers.. they are happy with it.

totally agree... having business with the steinberg support team sometimes was more painful than managing the dongle itself...
