First off, to DECiBELLE/R2R.. thank you for all of these Steinberg releases today.

For Windows (I don't do Mac):

I'd recommend using the Steinberg Library Manager (SLM). You can download the legit one from the Steinberg site and use that. I couldn't get it to work without it (and actually had some struggles even with it, but I resolved those).

Then what I did was place all the content for any of these Steinberg VSTs where I want them (i.e. whatever drive/location you want). I separated the content of the individual VSTs (Retrologue, Halion, Padshop) into their own folders, for my own OCD/organization purposes. Then, after SLM is installed, you double click on one of the .vstsounds in a particular folder, and it will open up in SLM automatically, and it will also install any other libraries in that same folder. From there, I checked off "Register in Place" (which I believe will keep the big files exactly where you placed them, rather than move them to ProgramData, or appdata or wherever they'd normally go).

Once they list within SLM, they should work in Retrologue or whatever VST you installed.

I had one problem where after SLM said the preset was already added, it didn't show in the list. If you run into that, just wipe out the %PROGRAMDATA%\Steinberg\Content folder and try again.

By the way, I followed the R2R instructions and installed Retrologue but when I load Retro I get the message "No License Found"??
Any idea guys?

Did you install the R2R Root Certificate as well as R2R Steinberg Silk Emulator? They're mentioned at the very top of the install that you need to install these, then reboot, THEN install Retrologue (or other k'd Steinberg stuff).

Hello @naitguy, I did install the Root Cert & the Silk but the issue I think is when I do the Root Certificate Test, I get this message

"R2R Root Cert is not installed or this application has been modified"

I know that I do have Wavelab from V.R installed and also Cubase Element.. I believe I need to UNINSTALL ALL these frist right?

But my concern is how to get the Root Certificate installed well cuz when I install it, I get the message as its installed successful. And when I do the test its says otherwise.

And the funny thing is when I want to folllow R2R steps to Delete all files from VR exemple:

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager\SteinbergActivationMonager.exe (this has Hidden and System attribute!)
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\HALion Sonic SE\HALion Sonic SE.exe.local\

I have NON of these in my system. Weird no?

They're hidden and marked as system files by VR's installer.

In windows Explorer go to "Organize" -> "Change Folder Options "
- Select the "View" Tab
- Choose "Show hidden folders, files & drives" and deselect "Hide protected operating system files". Then click on "Apply" and you'll see these "*.local" folders with the contained "wintrust.dll" file from VR.

Additionally I recommend to revert the changes that VR's installer did to the Registry. In my case they led to an error on startup where some OS processes showed a "hard error" message.

These are the changes:

retrologue is incredibly underrated. Great sounding vst, it is not Diva but it's lighter on cpu than that plugin. r2r is killing it wow.

I's still having issues during the install process, it drops error codes like 2503 and 2502 at every try. Somebody else has suffered the same?
