The VST Rack Pro software included with the RUio16-D is plug-in host software that uses VST plug-ins, letting you create the exact effect rack you want. This software is available for both Mac and Windows computers, and gives you the ability to build your own plug-in environment with both freedom and flexibility. By adding the RUio16-D with its compact form factor to the VST Rack Pro that brings so much freedom to your touring system, you’ll be able to offer the sounds you always use from the plug-ins you’re accustomed to using, even in environments that differ from the ones in which you typically perform.

VST plug-in host application
You can use your favorite VST plug-ins to create an original effects rack that’s both powerful and flexible.
With this setup, engineers can integrate their preferred VST plug-ins that they’ve already purchased for live performance and studio use into the system.
*VST3-compatible plug-ins can be used.

A wide array of built-in plug-ins and sample projects
The VST Rack Pro includes an array of more than 30 rich-sounding popular plug-ins created by Yamaha and Steinberg. Some of these include the Buss Comp 369, praised by RIVAGE PM users; the SuperVision, useful for managing loudness; and other plug-ins that can be used in a variety of situations.

This software also offers sample projects that are appropriate for multiple applications. You can get considerable mileage out of the sample projects as-is, or use them as a base to work from in creating your own custom projects, thus saving time.

Latency Group settings
The Latency Group field on the VST Rack Pro lets you group together specified plug-ins and synchronize the latencies of the racks within each group. When using the Auto settings, the rack with the maximum latency within a group is shown; when using the Manual settings, you can input a numeric value by double-clicking.

Bypass feature, just in case things go awry
When using the VST Rack Pro with the RUio16-D, a bypass feature is available to minimize any trouble that may occur. This feature is used if a problem occurs on your computer, preventing any trouble that might stop the sound on the entire system. You can adjust how long it takes for this function to activate, determined by how long the system is out of operation.

Are there any conditions regarding which VST plug-ins can be used?

64-bit VST3-compatible plug-ins can be used. VST2 plug-ins cannot be used.

I was interested but not now -
No VST2 plug-ins can be used, that cut out about 60% of my plugins, so thats no good to me. What are Yamaha thinking by not allowing VST2.

It seems they made this FX rack plugin in conjunction with Steinberg who recently announced discontinuing support for VST2 plugins. That's probably why. Unfortunately Steinberg will probably have already released vst4 once developers have fully committed to vst3, thus restarting the cycle of being obsolete.

I'd imagine that at this point, this FX rack is probably gonna be best suited as a Waves Rack substitute as Waves plugins are vst3 compatible.

You'd still need a fast I/O for this to work right? Just out of curiosity, what does this do that you can't do in a DAW like reaper?

0. uninstall previvious (eLicenser Control Center)

1. install latest eLicenser Control Center from :-
For Win:-
https://download.steinberg.net/downloads/eLicenserControlSetup.exe

for Mac:-
https://download.steinberg.net/downloads/eLicenserControl.dmg

2. protect the contents of this folder from antivirus
c:\Program Files (x86)\eLicenser\


3. run "Soft-eLicenser local license generator b25"
and generate 250 licenses (depending on the CPU lasts 3-8 minutes)

**P.S. (2) :-
---------------
*For incompatible OS : use ready-made (SeLicenser.sel)


4. install The Main software from this Folder (3- VST Rack v1.0.0.Win)
---> just install this (Install_VST_Rack.exe) file
all what is in this folder will be installed automatically

5. Block Standalone version by Firewall
C:\Program Files\Yamaha\VST Rack\VST Rack.exe

6. Run it & wait for about 2-3 Min!! ---> eventually it opens!!

7. after opening it ---> Choose (Main) on Left side ---> inside any (Rack) --->Browse to the Presets Folder

I don't get the use of this.
What I'm looking for is a way to insert plugins in my windows output, so I can EQ, compress, process, etc the operative system output, that includes, games, videocalls, browser, etc so, a rack like this but for Windows output, any idea?

I'm success running on Catalina S1.5 with SetLicenser.sel from WIN pack **same file)
and cp and replace to ***/Library/Application Support/Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser/SeLicenser.sel

i have a problem with extract pack ''mac.zip'' betterZIP.app resolve issue
(damage arch).

1. Instal steinberg eLic
2. Run Soft-eLic genb23.pkg
3. cp SeLicenser.sel to library locate ***

Your DAW dedected only AU plugins from yamaha, without standalone VSTrack

VST RACK has caused following error:
elicenser contain no valid license for this application

I've catalina too.
the license generator installing a license but it doesn't work, so I tried with SeLicenser.sel that is in the folder but it doesn't works too.
Any suggest?

Hello. I had the same error initially but was able to fix it. The version of the eLicencer I installed was from Nov 2021 but it was not the latest. I downloaded the latest version on 21/Jan/2022 and everything was fixed. Make sure to previously delete all the folders related to eLicencer, Syncrosoft both those located in Program Files x64/x86 and those that are saved in Program Data (hidden folder located in drive C.

Hello, I did as you wrote, I deleted all Syncrosoft file on the computer and I've used the newest version of elicenser, but I still have the same problem on my mac :'(

Can I use this on my audio interface (RME UFX)?
I found such an instruction below in Yamaha's FAQ section.

Q : Can VST Rack Pro be used with audio interfaces other than RUio16-D?
A : In the current version (V1.0.0), we only guarantee operation in combination with the RUio16-D.
