"The Sweetest EQ of all Times"
The exact models of Klangfilm RZ062 vintage EQ modules. Two plug-ins for music production and mastering.

Both RZ062 plug-ins deliver pleasant vintage warmth and amazing presence to your vocals, instruments and entire mixes.

The Original
The RZ062 Equalizers were originally (in the 1960s) designed in Germany for installation in mixing consoles. They were supposed to permit arbitrary modification of frequency response in sound recording and reproduction in order to eliminate undesired studio acoustics, noise, or to produce certain acoustic impression or tonal colouring. Soon they accommodated in top European studios. Now, these 6lbs 300V powered units are extremely rare. Due to their inaccessibility and unmistakable sound, their price climbs over $12.000 per pair. But thanks to our precise circuit modeling technique, these jewels can return to your projects.

Common EQ
Nowadays producers tend to surf through various frequencies and spend hours on trying to find the sweet spot of their mix. But the vintage gear worked differently.

RZ062
The RZ062 EQ's controls adjust precisely selected fixed parameters. They are perfectly sonically balanced to give the immediate and no compromise results. In addition, the circuitry adds wonderful colour to the entire material.

RZ062a
The RZ062a and RZ062b modules differ in the function of the central knob. The a-module middle handle rotates the entire frequency curve by around the central point (650 Hz). When the bass frequencies are raised, the trebles are simultaneously lowered.

RZ062b

The b-module is even more complicated. Its presence knob lets you choose one of four frequencies (1.4, 2, 2.8 and 4 kHz) and adjust their gain at the same time. This parameter helps your sonic material to cut through very gently and sensitively.

The Model
To create these amazing plug-ins we had to emulate more than 200 circuit components. That includes 3 triodes, input and output transformers. It is not just any circuit but someone did a great job focusing on the details. Each part has its own thoughtful meaning. For RZ062 we used so called white box modeling. We described the whole circuit with complex math equations based on the circuit analysis. Eventually, the overall model was fine tuned by measurements and component-values fitting algorithm. to find as the closest model to the real device as possible.

In use
"RZ062's place is everywhere where extra bass, treble or presence is needed while improving the overall colour, smoothness, and tightness of the sonic material. RZ062 is incredible on vocals, bass or acoustic instruments.

But due to the advanced controls – the independent left/right channels tweaking or mid/side operation - the main point of the RZ062 EQs is the top quality mastering purpose."

HIGHLIGHTS
Both RZ062 plug-ins deliver pleasant vintage warmth and amazing presence to your vocals, instruments, and entire mixes.

UPDATED VERSION 2.0.0

We have optimized and improved the tube simulation part of DSP as well as substantially improved CPU consumption. This allows you to have up to four times more RZ062 equalizers in your project. Calibration is now available as an audio parameter instead of an internal setting. Still, the default calibration value mechanism has been kept. We've also added an AI zoom option and extended support for the latest operating systems and DAWs.

this baby is definitively the grandmaster of low-end.
the lows are so soft and fluffy only a tape can top this.
even without any EQ curves active, saturate to colorate.
if you run a top-down mixbuss smiley EQ, THIS is your ticket.
not for fast BDs in metal or house, but if youre looking for smooth, resonant lows,
the german Klangfilm RZ062 is a real gem.

the Neve Portico (DDMF 6144) is the only one who gets close to this,
not even the pultecs (bettermaker, tube tech EQP1) have these smooth lows, although they win with their silky top.
but if you want real silk robes smooching around the top end of your audio, use the trident EQs for gentle clarity and stunning high end magic.
no DC, no FUN.

had the klangfilm b once but it let it go because it was a service nightmare. for modeling it would have provided a nice donor. but for audio those caps ans resistors are all theoretical cases since you cant get em anymore and im pretty certain they werent modeled here as well looking at the unit on their website. nice job nonetheless. theres an even rarer telefunken passive eq in kassettengroesse 2 i wish someone would model some day RK something, thats the grandfather of eqs.

all of those old overbuilt units are service nightmares cos theyre using parts noone produces anymore... i saw 660/670 being sold off cos they were money pits...
and yea, the ARD Telefunken stuff just had it. even tho he didnt model the w295s nor the v276 - have you tried Fuse Audio Labs? he does a bunch of rare units. he mostly designed the brainworx analog modelling until he quit BX and made his own Fuse Audio, so hes kind of master of analog modelling gems.

EQ tip: DDMF 6411 modelling a Neve Portico.
my personal favourite unless im mixing house.
no DC, no FUN.

In the seventies I worked at a film dubbing studio all Klangfilm from mid sixties. Much have changed since then...

THis eq is a beast but cpu usage made it unusable.

Then check this version. CPU % lowered

thats just a sales pitch because they use a non optimized off the shelf tube model.

Sounds great on a Mix Bus just by engaging the plugin and then by playing with input/output the Saturation is lit ????

Wow, that was fast! I posted a request about this yesterday!

Now I'm starting to doubt that they don't check requests. Or maybe I'm becoming clairvoyant? Who knows

Hopefully this version is a bit easier on the cpu. V1 was heavier than most Acustica plug-ins :S

Well, then I might just be clairvoyant! Check my request: https://audioz.download/request/200607-req-audified-rz062-equalizer-v20-update.html

I created it the day before and it got uploaded ~6 hours before this release was posted. They probably had it ready to go but hadn't released it yet. Maybe they were reminded to post it by my request or something. Or it's just a big coincidence. Doesn't really matter.

Am I just blind or did they remove OS completely in this version? :S If that's Audified's way to " substantially improve CPU consumption" then I'm very happy I didn't buy it yet. This consumes just as much CPU as running v1 without OS, so they didn't improve it in any way. It also has some weird problem that makes it go from 1% CPU load during playback up to 4-6% CPU load when pausing/stopping playback in Reaper. Anyone else here having the same problem?

The update sound excellent, just puching the input stage alone without even engaging the eq curves gives a very desirable color and life to tracks without the nasty breakup like a lot of plugins suffer from

for some reason it doesnt do anything for me.
i can turn buttons but nothing happens, as if bypassed.
if i hit bypass, the lights go off, otherwise no difference.
v1 worked like a charm (just with 486% CPU load). v2 is DOA.
any advice?
no DC, no FUN.

Amazing plugin. Using it for the first time on a master bus. Silky highs and great low end. The saturation is killer as well. This version only eats 9% CPU at 256 samples. Love it. Thank you R2R.
