A compressor that eats transients for breakfast, the 1178 is a rare and expensive legend of the recording studio, cleaner and more versatile than its older brother, the 1176. The 1178 has been used by great producers including Chris Lord-Alge (My Chemical Romance), Bob Clearmountain (Rolling Stones, Christina Aguilera), Yvan Bing (Phil Collins) and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead).

Our 1178 software (VST/VST3/AU/AAX) meticulously recreates the original 1178 hardware in its tonal color and compression character.

But we’ve taken the Pulsar 1178 further than the original unit, adding all the features you would expect from a modern, versatile plug-in, including a full sidechain EQ for added control, an optional saturation stage for warmth and character, and precise metering.

what are the changes since the last release ?

Had a look for change log - can't find one

Can't find a change log either. Just installed, at first glance, there's a new offline oversampling option in addition to the original real time oversampling option. Which is very convenient and worth install alone for me.

Heads up, C11 & C12 users. Another Steinbug!

It seems to affect this plugin especially. vst3. It's usually fine w/ normal use, but crashes (sidechained) every time you turn off / bypass the plugin in C11 / C12, with VST3 suspend on =(

Tried previous (1.09) version, same issue. Also Smasher seems to crash if you drag / drop it to a different insert. Haven't had the bypass crash happen w/ other Pulsar plugs.

I also have problem with VST3 version, in legit Studio One 5.3 here. VST2 works just fine!

"Pulsar Audio 1178" , "Pulsar Audio Mu" & "Pulsar Audio Smasher" are crashing my Cubase sometimes :(

Tried everything.
Somebody else?
