Predator-RE is a killer synthesizer that combines inspiring presets and first-class features to make this your 'go-to' synthesizer for contemporary music production. The user interface has been designed so that all controls are visible on the screen, making it fun and incredibly easy-to-use.

Predator-RE is packed with powerful features such as oscillators which also can modulate each other, two filters which can be combined in a very wicked way and offer 27 different filter types included comb and vocal-filter, 3 top quality fx units with 26 fx types, Unison Detune, Chord Memory and an extremely versatile Arpeggiator.

Predator-RE also offers inputs into the filter, 3 fx units, and vocoder, and access to Reason's unique CV and GATE features are also available at the back panel. And last but not least, Predator-RE's arpeggiator has outputs, so can be used to control other Reason plug-ins.

You need R2R's Reason release and TEAM R2R Reason Rack Extension Cache Builder

Copy the RackExtension folder to
"%APPDATA%\Propellerhead Software\RackExtensions\"

Copy *.R2RRECACHE file to
"%APPDATA%\Propellerhead Software\R2RRECACHE\"

After you add new RackExtension(s), you need to rebuild the RE cache:
- Just run "RECacheBuilder.exe" from TEAM R2R Reason Rack Extension Cache Builder
- Cache file will be built.
- Done!

Big thanks to R2R for sharing their knowledge and providing the resources!

Snagged this one for old times sake -- this and Blue 2 were go-to soft synths back in the day -- but I'm curious as to why you'd bother with these Rack Extensions when you can run your VST's in Reason these days. Are they cheaper than a VST?

Also, are we likely to see the various stock refills?

the re version has its patchable flipside, eg predator 12 cv inputs and 6 cv outputs. thats the whole point of reason, isnt it?

Duh! I'm a moron. Back when I used to use Reason, the whole gate/cv thing went over my head a bit. It was what I was learning to make music on and I didn't really grasp the power of what it did. It just seemed like a kind of archaic version of midi.

Last few months though, I've been playing with VCV and getting to grips with the power of that system. Be interesting to see what difference it actually makes in real terms.

reason 4 was my first daw, im more than happy to see a recent version. and predator was a lot of fun, back in those days. but the icecream on the top, everything works perfect on win7 (to stay on topic). you can mangle the cv's as you like, way more easy than automate everything. its an experimental thing, imho.

Just my opinion but the whole back panel thing was cool years ago but imo is really quite dated & limited these days in comparison to max4live.

Thumbs up for someone saying "I do something wrong" instead of "This release is faulty" like most others
