ReLab LX480 Complete v3.1.1 (READ NFO)-RET screenshot
Team RET | 29 Jul 2021 | 22.0MB
For decades, the 480 has been the standard by which all other reverb processors have been measured. Ask any pro and you’ll soon learn that the 480 is widely considered to be one of the best-sounding reverbs ever built. Nothing compares to the distinctive, smooth, rich “480 sound”.

Improved Preset Management
The new preset manager for the Relab LX480 allows you to manage reverb presets using an attractive and intuitive interface.

Presets can be sorted and stored in logical groups, for fast and intuitive preset loading and saving.

Instantly load presets from the original 480L or start with one of our signature presets from world-class mix engineers and then make minor or major adjustments to those settings to suit the needs of your mix. Of course, you can also save your own favorite reverb sounds for fast recall in future mixes.

Thanks R2R for the anti MetaFortress trick!

* No iLok driver installation needed.
* It launches faster and more RAM friendly than original.

LX480 Complete - Version 3.1.1
* Fix : Graphic issue causing crash/freeze

This v3.1.1 update does not fix what R2R did for v3.1.0. LX480 crashes when
user sets odd number to buffer size (only even number is working). This RET
release does not crash by this bug because we did same hotfix trick as R2R.
But you still need to set valid even number to the buffer size to get proper
sound. If you get crackle sound from LX480, check them first.

i seriously have to give this plugin a try. I mean the eventide stuff was pretty amazing, despite i first said, its to cpu demanding.

Thats based on the lexicon reverb 480 model?

Thanks RET, R2R and DECiBELLE! What would i do without you.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

Yep, it's an algorithmic remake of the 480L.

It's a " tentative " of remake, to be precise here.

Martin Lind has commented several times on that he has / had no access to the " raw algorithms used in the real thing ".

So, for the calculations to start with, it's not a 1:1 . But it sounds sooo close ! ( AFA it can be put in parallel with the original HW for testing ).

But this odd/even refers to audio card buffer, or something other?

It refers to ASIO driver sample buffer. You have to use even values like 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 which most of the people do.

Amazing ! Thank you RET !!
Curious.. How does one input an odd buffer size ? I thought buffer sizes are fixed and are only even.

it depends on your environment, FL studio for example is a variable buffer DAW host, so inside FL's plugin wrapper, you can choose to use fixed size buffers on an instance of a plugin.
not sure why that is

Love this reverb's sound. Was using 3.1.0. with jbridge. Hopefully this fixes the gui issue.
Thanks to RET & R2R.

This thing sounds amazing, but boooooy is it clumsy to use, holy shit. Also it generates noise. You can turn it down a bit in the settings, but it won't go away completely.
Also if you have issues in FL, go to plugin wrapper and enable "use fixed size buffers" and "use maximum buffer size from host" from Troubleshooting and also disable the smart disable ( ) from Processing. You can then compensate for the added latency right on the spot in Settings and be fine-ish.

You can turn off the noise by choosing a different output inside the plugins setup menu.

In the plugin setup menu (red display) you can choose different outputs - each output either with, or without noise.

I guess the outputs with noise in this plugin emulate the noise coming from the outputs of the hardware unit.

That's what I meant by "turning it down", because even digital with no noise doesn't turn it off completely.

Sorry but if you hear some noise with any of the (no noise) settings, it must be your speakers, or your audio card's noise. Check with a spectrum analyzer after LX480 and you'll see that "no noise" means "no noise".

Thank you so much for updated release, RET!

That's interesting. It's true that I first heard the noise in my headphones with nonexistent dynamic range, but checking it with Pro-Q is the next thing I did - and the noise was there, on about -120 dB. It was on a send with no noise sources routed in and no other plugins, so it was 480.
There also were 7 of them in the project and I had to add them one at a time, closing and reopening Studio One after each one, lest it will crash. Maybe something bugged out with my system.

Thats strange. For me the plugin is dead quite when I select an output without noise.

Maybe you have some other plugins in your project with the "analog" switch activated? For example the "analog" switch in some Waves plugins produces some noise...

Or maybe you are hearing the noisefloor of your soundcard or the noisefloor of your speakers? Did you try to listen with headphones, or turn off all other plugins?

Thank you for this but I don't like the reverb. Sounds pretty fake. I think I will stick with my M7.
Come here just to try the software and buy it afterwards.
If I don't like the software I will just DELETE it.

Has anyone tried if it keeps crashing in Studio One?
  Member 9.01.2021 48

if the plugin crashes in studio one the only solution is jbridge and crashes stops forever!, i copied my comment how to do that (for previous version) here (you can do it for this version too :

jbridge is not intended to fix crashing vst but it does !!
this is what i did and it worked perfect:
1- move LX480Complete.dll to outside of vstplugins folder
2- run jbridge and select i will be using 64bit host then choose first option then select moved file ((LX480Complete.dll), and then select path for vstplugin folder, jbridge puts converted file (LX480Complete.64.dll) in vstplugins folder
3- re-scan vst plugins folder in daw (don't delete or change path of moved dll file)
4- now plugin works without any problem!!

Studio one isn't picking up the Lx480 in the rescan, even though i can see that jbridge has placed them in vst folder in program files on my C drive. The real dl is on my external hardrive. Any advice?
