Up to 8 times more processing power with the new multicore engine that processes each parallel chain on a separate core.
New DSP workload meter that displays the DSP activity and CPU load.
Added MIDI control support (MIDI CC messages) for Next and Previous Preset commands, with MIDI learn.
Reduced time to load PatchWork or any built-in plug-in.
Multiple DSP performance improvements.
Improved buffer management in standalone application on Mac, reducing both latency and CPU usage.
Level meters are not updated anymore when the user interface is closed, reducing CPU usage.
Reduced the number of threads used by the plug-in.
Improved global and preset settings window loading time on Windows.
Added ability to select the plug-in to load when a shell plug-in file is dragged and dropped onto a slot.
Full unicode support.
Preset files can now be dropped onto the preset LCD area to be loaded.
Improved "Tone Maps" user interface (available for 9 built-in effects).

Fixes:
Fixed standalone app not always asking for Microphone access on most recent MacOS systems.
Fixed host loop end value not properly passed to hosted plug-ins, for the VST2 version.
Fixed several crashes upon load for multiple third party plug-ins (mostly VST3).
Fixed display issues with Waves plug-ins V12 in Mac standalone application.
Fixed MIDI control for hosted plug-ins not always working when fed with silence.
Fixed VST3 (and sometimes VST) version freezing Ableton Live upon save on Windows.
Fixed harmonizer and Pitch Shifter built-in plug-ins that did not always flush their buffer upon bypass (short sounds could be heard when getting out of bypass)

having tested out this new 2.5 patchwork i can say that it does use way less cpu by itself and the multicore support within it is huge. i still think the blue cat's plugins interfaces are clunky and load a bit sluggish.
anyway ableton allows one core per audio/midi track.. but patchwork now lets you split up plugins (inside it) on a single track across the cores. great for when using hogs like reaktor, uad or melda ones. also being able to switch patchwork plugins via midi program change messages is amazing for live performances (especially when you can set a midi clip in ableton to send a program change message). they got my money there.

Now I see it's not just me. I confirm again that installing this package is causing serious problems for some users. I experimented twice and always the same result. 1. After installation, I only have some plugins from this package. All the other Blue Cat plugins my DAW can't see. 2. Many plugins from other manufacturers stopped starting. I suspect that this installer overwrites or corrupts Visual C. I installed all Visual C packages again, but this did not help. I'm using Win 7 x64.

I have now installed this package with
SoftOrganizer. Now, I can see what's changed in my system. This installer has deleted these files.

System32:
msvcp140_1.dll
msvcp140_2.dll
msvcp140_atomic_wait.dll
msvcp140_codecvt_ids.dll
vcamp140.dll
vcruntime140_1.dll

And some keys in the registry related to the operation of Visual C packages have also been deleted. Therefore, now, many plugins of other manufacturers are not running. BE CAREFUL TO INSTALL THIS PACKAGE!!!

Fortunately, after installation; all those .dll's you show as being deleted on your system were not deleted on my system. Consequently I've had no problems (so far) with loading any of my plugins. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64.

IMO the best way is to use analysis install software but from virtual machine (I'm using Total Uninstall from VMware 16 Player - hosting Windows 10 21H1 x64). I don't know about Soft Organizer, however.

Correct me if i'm wrong but could Microsoft Process Monitor be an alternative to Soft Organizer ? At least to see what files did the installer modify on the OS.
