Stereo tool is a software-based audio processor which offers outstanding audio quality and comes with many unique features. It is used by over 1500 FM stations ranging from small local stations to 50-100 kW stations and nation-wide networks with dozens of transmitters, thousands of streaming stations and many DAB+, HD, AM and TV stations. It can be used for both live and file based processing.

Stereo Tool can make recordings sound equal and consistent in volume and sound color, bring out the details, and increase existing stereo effects. It can repair 'broken' stereo images which often occur on cassette tapes, vinyl and cheap CD's, which normally causes havoc when playing it on a mono system, headphones or a system which includes a stereo widener.

Special support (not free) is included for radio stations: Much louder output levels, FM pre-emphasis, stereo coding and RDS coding for FM stations, and protection of highs against distortion caused by lossy compression for web radio stations. The processing latency can be reduced as low as 12 ms, at the cost of reduced fidelity. At the maximum quality the processing latency is 93 ms.

Winamp plug-in version
Intended for Winamp, SAM Broadcaster, RadioBOSS, MediaMonkey, AIMP and other applications that support Winamp DSP plug-ins.

Stand alone version
Sound card input to sound card output. Intended mainly for FM radio stations which process external (live) feeds.

Hi,
Yes, looking through the comments on the last few releases, it seems the vst plugin was not included. The fact that the file size is now back to around the same size as R9.40 indicates that this release does indeed have the vst plugin included, as well as the stand-alone app.

Also, in the comments section for the V9.6.1 release, there are some useful observations from FinalMaster.

How to install the vst plugin?

There are two same vst plugins, one in the main rar file and one in the TSRH rar file which is inside the main rar file.

Hi! Is there a way to block just the vst3 and not all the internet connection? And do I need to install the stand alone program even if I’m only interested in the vst3 version to use in my daw?

Robert, do u mean that every time I use this as a vst that I need to disable my internet connection or that I can have internet connection but with firewall enabled at the same time? I thought firewalls where made to block certain digital threats from an unsafe network, not to "block" the internet connection. If I wanna block internet to my computer I just turn off my wifi or disconnect the ethernet cable lol

I just know my "firewall" and i can allow or deny "outgoing connections" from any programm or daw..
Sure, it also can block incoming DDOS / digital threats and that stuff, too...
Disconnect internet pc adapter from hole (W)LAN is not always recommend, if you have your private LAN in an Studio Setup, could mess up other things.
But every LAN has a specific env.

@Elekim .. yes i think if you figure out to which addresses the stereo tool vst will call home you can block this in your windows host file. -. dont know for Mac.

If you plan to use it in some project. You can remove most of the lossy encoding artefacts and simplifications.
- You can expand it, to reverse compression, de-clip it, remove pre-ringing and dequantize dynamic quantization, restore the striped off frequencies (by extrapolation, of course), un-mask (fill spectral holes), center bass, remove stereo offset and negative correlation, correct panning, remove DC offset, restore transient response, remove digital harshness. All of this happens due to lossy encoding process.
You get a file that is of higher quality and will not stand out from the rest of your mix.

Come here just to try the software and buy it afterwards.
