Developers add more protection over iLok to their releases. iLok was killed 4 years. Different devs have different protections on their iLok plugins.

Helix is pretty much a replacement for them. R2R has been sharing a bunch of old and forgotten software lately though and considering ampfarm was first released in '98 it's possible that they will release it. Who knows?

If you like to have ampfarm and echofarm you should search for podfarm, which bundles those two and a few others if I'm not mistaken. It's like Helix.

Thank you so much R2R for releasing my favourite ITB "pedalboard"! Yesssss! This sounds good on pretty much anything, but really - make your own presets! Treat it like a pedalboard+amp. Very versatile. :P

Hm.. again 'Failed to connect to DSP engine -8201' error for me. Same as R2R previous release. Has anyone had this issue, or knows how to solve it?

Update: I've found that many legit owners have this issue. Users are instructed to reauthorize in order to fix it. I'm almost sure Helix team broke something in their protection scheme.

Me too. R2R's Helix of v1.92 and v3.01 both show me the error message. Fortunately VR's v3.01 Helix works well. I prefer R2R's than VR's when they released the same thing, but it seems I have to stick to VR's for now.

Same. VR's version sadly developed immense loading time issues where it would temporarily brick my entire DAW until it got done loading whatever it was loading. Not using IR blocks somehow seemed to shorten the load times, but it's still basically unusable at this point.

A little late but once I too faced this issue. I uninstalled it using "Add or remove programs" in Windows and reinstalled, which somehow fixed the issue!

Did anyone who ran into the "Failed to connect to DSP engine -8201" error manage to get past it? I did block access to Line 6's website (and verified that it's blocked), let the keygen do its magic (it just reported the plugin to be registered without showing any interface before that) and I tried with both VST3 and VST2. I also uninstalled the whole package, cleaned up the remainders in "%APPDATA%\Line 6" incl. the license file and started over from scratch with the network cable unplugged at all times. Still no joy. I found some cases of legit users experiencing the same issue on the web and their solution was to deauthorize and reautorize the plugin, but that doesn't really help us either. Any hints would be very welcome!

Helix recently started trying to connect to the license server all of a sudden and stopped working. Now after a full reinstall I now get that issue.

Time to try VR I guess.
