Granulate!
Quanta is a full-featured ten-voice true stereo granular synthesizer, with up to a hundred 1000ms grains per voice, and full control over the grain state, with direct randomization and modulation of most parameters. Drag-and-drop a sample (WAV, AIFF, Ogg, or FLAC) on to the window and go to work.

Synthesize!
With two multi-mode filters (with LP, HP, BP and notch in 2-pole and 4-pole topologies), and a "sidecar" virtual-analog oscillator and noise generator that can be used in addition to, or injected into, the grain engine, Quanta is a fully capable subtractive synth in its own right, and will work as a granular or subtractive (or both) synth without any sample at all.

Modulate!
Quanta has mod coming out its ears. First up are four of our new FEGs (Flexible Envelope Generator), a 99-point looping function generator with optional host tempo sync. Then add two arbitrary-waveshape LFOs, a multi-source sample-and-hold module, and fully user-controllable MIDI assignments, with nearly every control on the panel as a destination.

Control!
Quanta is customizable to your taste and playing style. With full MPE support, it can take advantage of the extended control set of your Linnstrument, Seaboard, Soundplane, Continuum, or other MPE controller, and support for TUN files lets you use tuning tables. The resizable Hi-DPI GUI lets you adjust the size to match your visual needs, and the cross-platform preset mechanism lets you share your creations with your friends and collaborators, no matter what system they are using.

CHANGES IN V1.2.0

New:

> Linux VST3 added to payload.

> macOS versions now Universal 2, and will run native on M1 Macs. Unfortunately, this means that the minimum macOS is now 10.12 “Sierra.”

Fixes:

> WebKit and OpenGL removed entirely. This won't affect macOS or Windows, but it removes some annoying dependencies in Linux.

> There was a small bug in the MPE Zones implementation that was preventing notes arriving on channels 13-16 from triggering a voice. This has been fixed. It was first found in the Live 11 beta, but it may have been happening elsewhere and we were just unaware of it. In any event, no longer a problem.

Quanta is a really nice and crazy sampler/synth. Thank you so much!

All AD stuff is absolutely welcome!

Come on, friend, you know it's called "Granular Synthesizer".
Sampler/Synth is something more akin to Omnisphere, or what UVI do.

You are technically correct but granular synthesis is sample based, though the samples are not played back conventionally!

Well, let me respectfully slightly disagree and second what Justwannadownload said there, on the technical aspect of the argument: granular synthesis is indeed sample-based, therefore all granular synths ARE part of the larger "sample-based" synthesis family.

YET, SineWave didn't write "sample-synth" but "sampleR-synth"!

A sampler is not quite a synthesizer per se (although I'll admit many can blend the boudaries almost completely). In any case, I don't think Quanta could reasonably be called a "sampler".
I also believe all this arguing to be rather pointless (even more so considering it could all be based on a simple typo from SineWave!), still, friendly arguing just for the sake of it can be fun sometimes (eg. when you don't have anything better to do for the next 3 minutes, just like myself right this moment... ^_-)

Cheers to all, and a special nod to Horsemen for sharing this fantastic instrument, and SYNTHiC4TE for spreading it (plus Audio Damage themselves of course...)

Well, I'm a sampler lover, and I consider everything that can load samples a sampler, be it granular or something else. Simple.

Kurzweil K2000, for example, has VAST synthesis, but it can load samples, so I consider it a synth-sampler, or a sampling-synth. I would actually really love it if all subtractive or FM, PM, or Additive synths had an option to load samples and use them as oscillators. That would be very cool, don't you agree? Gosh I feel so bored already when I see a synth with those saw, pulse, and in some cases triangle and/or sine oscillators only. Wavetable synthesis can be considered sample based synthesis, too. I love all these new wavetable synths. :P They are practically what I wanted: subtractive synths with samples or any kind of waveforms as oscillators. Great!
