At least these badly cracked versions serves to inform R2R about updates.
Now let's wait for the masters' answer...

Agreed. V.R gives us lots of new plugins and R2R push their version only when V.R pushed it.
I think the Plugin Alliance was also done like that.

For me it wasn't that bad. If you only have this installed (i.e. just its 12K or so presets it comes with) and no junctions under ProgramData/Arturia, the sound part of the VST loads in a couple of seconds in Reaper on a project that has it already on a track. The UI does take some 10 seconds to show up though.

On its very first run, it will create its preset database, and that will be slow with this version, as I've noted in another comment below. But after that the timings will as above.

Finally my PC is now Arturia free. No matter how good they are. They fuck up ur PC. They bloat up ur files and folders and more important they bloat up the registry so much that it need to open more than 2 minutes to open specific keys. So this is why my manual registry searches or registry cleaners hung up al the time. Since Arturia wont make a good installer i refuse to fuck up my computer. Must see the older installers v4 or so. If they are the same i will get rid f them too.

Are Lab4 and Collection8 compatible?

Lab5 is running slowly.

Lab4 is even slower than Lab V on all my tests (see below), especially on Win10. As for compatibility, you won't be able to load Pigments 3.0+ presets in Lab4, even though it can load Pigments 3.5 as inner plugin/editor. Most other V8 instruments seem fine.

There is however a fairly big gotcha if you install V Collection 8.2, released as VR 2022.1 or Pigments 3.5.1 (or later) or Lab V 5.4.7 or later. All of these use a new DB format, which is somewhat faster for themselves (shaves about one second of startup) but barely compatible with Analog Lab 4, meaning the latter will be 5-7 times slower on startup with the new 8.2 DB format. And you can't really prevent its creation because 8.2 products will delete the old format database on their startup and create the new one.

Please help! I've installed Arturia.V.Collection.9.v9.4.0-R2R with Arturia.Sound.Banks.Bundle.2023.1.CE and also Analog Lab 5 (but I don't remember if it's R2R or CE VR) and now my older projects with Analog Lab 4 are unusable - they just freeze. How to fix this?

I'm not sure why some people hype this version. The DB creator that comes with it runs incredibly slowly upon installation. And with VR's installer the db creator that comes with this will definitely clobber any newer ones you might have. I'm not sure if Arturia's own installer is any smarter in this regard.

Also, this version doesn't work at all if your C:\ProgramData\Arturia is a junction. It just goes in an endless loop upon startup, unlike version 5.x.

Well, after toying with it some more, I do see the attraction that it has more controls than V, about 20 per layer and yet another 20 for the fx/main... (But you'd be hard pressed to call these macros anymore, given how many they are.)

The perf problem can be fixed by using Win7 instead of Win10, where this version loads some 2.5 times faster as-is. Or by dumping some newer DLLs from V in the shared folder... which actually make it load on par with V on Win7, in terms of speed.

Surprisingly it still works with Pigments 3.5, in that it can load it internally... but only as long as the presets are for the version 2.0 of Pigments. It can't load 3.0 or 3.5-specific presets at all, it just display an error to update to a newer version of Analog Lab 4, which of course doesn't exist. So it's not all that useful anymore, but has its charm. It only has like 117 specifi multi-layer presets of its own though.

Interestingly it seems it can load some layered presets that aren't tagged as "multi", e.g. Cinema Layer, but I'm not sure those are from Lab V. There might be just a tagging error, or the 4 tagging system is too confusing for me. For instance, "Analog Lab" shows up as an instrument in the middle section of the browser (if you switch the column appropriately), but it doesn't show as such at all on the left pane of the browser.

Please help. I needed Analog Lab 4 for some old projects and when I'm opening them In Ableton 11.1 they become unusable. One instruments stack with 3x this Analog Lab is making whole project choppy af! I need to wait almost a minute to even change tracks... How to fix this? (I have also Analog Lab Bundle 2023 and Analog Lab 5)
