Cool, didn't know they had a Pultec. Anyone have an opinion on how this would be compared to other Pultec emulations?

Several dépends of your needs... for me uad and Acoustica seems the good tool but it dépend on your price and for acoustica the power of your cpu... but for me if you talk equalizer for shape and tone no native eq are in the level of this ...

Thank you. UAD is out of the question due to the hardware requirements and Acoustica Audio is not liberated yet so I won't buy it. But thanks anways.

I would like to give my two cents as well. One of the better Pultec emulations I’ve used is the PSP NobleQ / Noble Qex; it seems not a lot of people are aware this one exist thus people recommend the Pultec series by Noiseash. I may add the Pultec by Noiseash isn’t bad but the Noble series sounds better to my ears. Lastly, the bettermaker eq from Plugin Aliance is great; it’s a very clean and transparent Pultec. Apparently it’s not doing anything special and is just a bunch of eq curves, but they are quite intricate and you wouldn’t make them on your own using fabfilter pro q.

Imo you can’t go wrong with any three of these. I haven’t compared this overtone Pultec with the previous ones but I will soon.

I have the NoiseAsh but it's not been very stable for me lately, which is why I am looking for an alternative. The NobleQ looks interesting.
I didn't know the Bettermaker was actually a Pultec. It doesn't look like it to me. Interesting! If you do get a chance to check out the Overtone, I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.

Bettermaker EQ232D exactly a PULTEC EQ, but the most interesting thing is that it's low-end is much much much solid than UAD or NoiseAsh or Waves.
Very different style, very good sound quality.

I think the NoiseAsh is solid, and gets the job done in most cases (even though it's not perfect, I do think that it's slightly underrated.) Agreed 100 on the PSP NobleQ, though. PSPaudioware seems to always be left out of "Top 5" lists and any discussion on quality plugins....maybe it's because their GUIs reek of the early-oughts.

All Overtone plugins are properly done, stable, no fuss, great workhorse plugins from a very knowledgeable developer. Mix and listen, and know what you're doing... that's the most important thing.
