Yes, a lot of R2R keygen are detected as "trojan", but it's false positive

The real question is, is it better than Black Rooster? And no, not it's not.

BTW Softube is a different eq in the pultec style, they shouldn't sound quite the same. Black Rooster is the best Pultec emu.

In my humble opinion, it's the best sounding Pultec style EQ I've tried until now. I think Softube version is too thin.. Compare for yourself, maybe you'll agree ...

The softube version isn't a pultec that's why, only pultec style built cleaner with modern style. Tubetec is a real company, it's a clone of a pultec not a pultec.

BTW - Black Rooster VEQ1P is hands down the best latest real pultec emu.

Overtone have never impressed me. Black Rooster's best plugs are made by the same guy who made Plugin Alliance's best plugs (Ray Dra*wa), they really know how to model analog stuff. Overtone is just another 'meh' plug in.

DashSlap, I'm gonna have to disagree with you..

Overtone's developer and founder, Mike Start was a software / hardware design engineer for over twenty years at Solid State Logic (SSL). So, it's not so "meh"..

They have also very nice plugins as the DYN4000 and EQ4000.

I just finished doing a 20 minutes comparison between VEQ1P and PTC-2A. The Black Rooster's sounded very nice also, I had not tested it before. It appears to have less transients and they have a slightly different tone. I don't know how the real equipment compares, but the Overtone's sound more natural to me.

You are right about the Softube. It's a different thing.
