Keygen is crashing and not authorising, leads to DEMO/BUY/ACTIVATE within Massive X on launch. I had already turned off my anti-virus on WIn 10 but still doesn;t work. ALso uninstalled and reinstalled everything (including clearing the registry first before reinstalling) but still no joy! I have already just installed Guitar Rig 6 and Maschine v2.12 just fine which also have keygens... this keygen is definitely not working properly.

I just had the same issue as you did with a new build of win 10 build 20H2.
Here is what I did to fix it.
First uninstall current version of Massive X.
Then install the other r2r version that is the older one.
When I ran that older key gen I got an error saying
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\Native Access\ had errors. When I went to that folder I had like 6 different files I deleted all of them and then ran the new keygen and it worked fine.

So there is a minor issue with the new keygen not saying what the error is like the older one.
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\Native Access\
After that I uninstalled the oldr version ran the new one and it worked fine.
My defender and real time protection is disabled also.

I know this is a late post but posted the info for you and other in case there refer back to this.

I think like this;

Navigate to Control Panel and then click on "Windows Defender" to open it.
Select "Tools" and then "Options".
Select "Administrator" in the left pane.
Uncheck the "Use this program" check box.
Click on "Save" and then "Close" in the resulting Windows Defender information window.

This is from Microsoft site (I think they may have changed how to do it)

Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings (or Virus & threat protection settings in previous versions of Windows 10).
Switch Real-time protection to Off. Note that scheduled scans will continue to run. However, files that are downloaded or installed will not be scanned until the next scheduled scan.

I remove all NI stuff and reinstalled it all. took all entries out of registry and made sure there was no NI folders left on my system before reinstalling. This works just fine

Nope. Even after "registering" with keygen (successfully registered), Massive X freezes when calling up presets from the factory library, which i have "successfully registered" via the keygen too. Forcing me to kill ableton through the Task Manager.

Working or not, please write the Edition of Windows you are on including the version and update you are on eg. Windows 10 x64 1909 September Update.
It give members an informed way of knowing if it's a good idea to download and install. It's the only way we'll get to the bottom of this problem.

I wish people would stop suggesting that it is a Windows Defender issue, it is NOT! I am not even using Windows Defender (it is turned OFF deliberately so I have more control over Norton and it does not interfere with any installations - real time protection is OFF), and ALL of the other currently posted installations here from R2R of Native Instruments stuff have gone through FINE! THIS KEYGEN IS THE ONLY ONE THAT IS SHOWING THESE PROBLEMS AND IT IS NOT AUTHORISING MASSIVE X AT ALL, it is simply CRASHING REPEATEDLY!!!

Dude, I just installed this over my 1.0.1 R2R release and first of all, keygen works PERFECTLY fine. I've tested ALL presets and all factory and expansions work PERFECTLY FINE. So it IS NOT the keygen. It's your dirty install/computer. Clean up all directories, and go into the registry and clean it up as well.

For everyone else:
Make sure real-time protection is disabled in Windows/turn off all anti-virus software.

Just so everyone knows:

THIS DOES WORK. NO CRASHING.

I manually selected each product in the keygen and registered each one. Boom. Works 100%.

Just because it is working for you does NOT mean it is ok! You can see clearly from the many, many posts here already that I am NOT the only one who is having problems with this keygen, and ONLY this keygen, so there is most definitely a problem with it! And my "dirty install/computer" is nothing of the kind! I have already explained that I DID clean up the directory structure and the registry and removed all traces of any previous release of Massive X and STILL no joy with the keygen... the software install of Massive X works flawlessly yes, but not the keygen! AND my computer is NOT "dirty" as you insultingly make out, it is an almost brand new installation of Windows 10 Pro with absolutely NO problems with any of my other software installations. So to reiterate, THIS KEYGEN IS NOT WORKING FOR EVERYONE as the many other entries here demonstrate... YOU just happen to be one of the lucky ones, which I have no problem with, but don't call out those who ARE having problems when you have absolutely no idea of their systems or methods of working!

You are the one calling those out with your very first sentence from your original post.

I am not "lucky". It's software. As a soft dev, there's no such thing as 'random' on a computer. So being "lucky" is not the case.

IF, instead of you calling things out for not working, you'd post your steps, so that the ones who did get it to work, could help you, then you wouldn't be calling out things for not working when indeed they are.

are you running other protection software other than WD? Do you have NI access installed? etc.

I quoted you as "lucky" simply because you have been able to install the software without any problems whatsoever! Of course there is a bug in the keygen somewhere which is being affected by factors on the users machine, that much is obvious, it's not magic for god's sake! HOWEVER, YOUR MACHINE IS NOT EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS, whereas you can see from the posts here that countless others ARE experiencing them! You yourself have stated all the user has to do is turn off WD, but that is not the case at all! The problem is far more nuanced than that quite clearly. My anger is becuase you and others who have had no difficulties are simply saying turn off WD and all will be well. But WD is permanently turned off on my machine and that has not solved it! I use Norton and Auto-Protect is also turned off manually when I am installing software from here, so that is not the issue either! There is something else, some other incompatibility that is causing these issues it is obvious, so back off, stop seeking an argument where there isn't one, and STOP suggesting WD is the only problem here (if indeed it is the problem at all), because it is not!
