On Finder, go to carpet (shift+cmd+G) and copy this: ~/library
Then on Application Support it's where you should put the .ol2 licenses

For Mac users, i tried unsuccessfully to get this to authorize, it kept opening as demo, i tried everything suggested here to no avail.
Finally got it to work!
Install the plugin
block www.overloud.com with little snitch and/or terminal
go to user/Library/Application Support/Overloud and see if GEMS folder is there, if not open DAW and try to open plugin once.
Close DAW, GEMS folder should now be there, if not ... create it, then reboot Mac to be safe.
Run keygen.
*IMPORTANT*
For me it was the mac address part in the keygen, i was copying and pasting my mac address but the keygen wasn't taking all the numbers and letters, i had to remove all the colons ( and it does specifically say that in the instructions here but i overlooked it ).
So for example; my mac address is 40:6c:8f:b8:6b:a2
i pasted it into the keygen but only 40:6c:8f:b8: was really pasting.
so i removed the colons and pasted 406c8fb96ba2
then i dragged the files from my desktop into the GEMS folder and Voila! no more demo mode.

If anyone struggling with this installation and can't find the ~/Library/Application Support/Overloud/GEMS/ , these folders which you are supposed to put the generated OL files don't appear unless you first start the app, which then creates the folder. I restarted after I first opened too. You have to make sure you also stop communication with www.overloud.com using terminal. I tried starting the app up first and also restarting. NOTHING will get my mac to create the GEMS folder. If I try to generate the GEMS folder myself, and stick the ol2 file in, it doesn't register either.

I wonder why your machine will create the GEMS file but mine won't?

Mac users: Double check to make sure that your mac address has not changed. If so, you'll have to re-K-Gen to the new mac address. If you have old keys stored inputted with your old mac address, they are no longer good. Worked for me, I hope the same for you.

Even their magnificent Breverb reverb can be instantiated a trillion times, even on ultra modest and old computers, thanks to a super tight c++/assembler (not 100% sure) code.

Meanwhile, a few dozens of 44/16 mono instances of many UAD plugins can easily destroy a +10 years old, $5 sharc dsp, used on those ultra cheap solo-duo-quad-octo cards. Let's not even talk about stereo and 96/24 formats, lol

We have a real problem here. Either the overloud devs are genius, and their code is ultra efficient...or... the sharc dsps used for over 10 years, by uad, aren't powerful. At all.
I'd chose the second option.

Even tho i got blocked overload thru host file,for first time after couple of years Today i got time bomb in Cubase 10.All my Overload plugins gone to demo version.... I installed this vst over last version from R2R also...Nevermind i will register them again,but just sayiing.

Cannot get this to work on Windows 10. I install, run host patch as admin, use keygen to activate yet when I still open the plugin it wants me to activate? Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point. Thanks in advance.

To any having trouble using this on OSX, place OLTD.ol2 here:
/Users/***you***/Library/Application Support/Overloud/GEMS
instead.

Probably works the same for all the other Overloud products too.
