Hi, has anybody been able to activate this on Mac?
I have followed the instructions and I generated the license file and put it in the correct folder but when I launch the plugin I'm asked for license?? I have blocked out going connections and I noticed that the ol2 file disappears when the plugin is launched..
any help would be great

Hey lyric8, thanks for putting this here. It helped me solve the problem and make all GEM plugins work. For some reason the /Library/Application Support/Overloud/GEMS/ folder didn't appear immediately after install or was hidden. Thanks to you I found it.

I have also discovered some other issues that prevented me from getting these plugins to work on Mac os 10.13 that I will briefly outline if anybody else is fiddling around with no luck:
- the hosts file on MAc os 10.13 (and later possibly) On my machine the hosts file reverts itself everytime I boot my machine. I can edit and save it, but it restores to an earlier version everytime I boot. Also, domains blocked in the hostfile remain accessible through a browser. Which tells me the hosts file doesn't mean much anymore in a Mac os system. I looked into it a little bit with no other result than understanding that the OS architecture now has other processes higher than the hosts file and these I haven't be able to understand or access. So I turned to blocking with Little Snitch instead.

With little Snitch in place and license files in the folder specificed above by lyric8:
/Library/Application Support/Overloud/GEMS/
it works for me at least.

If you can't see the folder above try and put its path in the Finder > Go > Go To Folder window. If the folder hasn't been created try opening your DAW and enabling one of the GEM plugins and see if it generates.

I know this is vague, I'm just trying to re-trace the steps that finally made it work for me.

They inverted Attack and release values !! Normaly on 1176 when you turn release right it get shorter and attack left it gets longer... did they had a real 1176 in their hand one day ?

I got it to work but it still says 10 minute demo and my license file doesn't disappear. I followed the instructions and blocked access as well. So not working for me...on High Sierra

Here I am again complaining. But what else can I do when these releases are not functional? I generate an ol2 file, move it to the user library folder, restart the Mac and get the demo screen. Is there nobody left on whom you can rely to have a stable release? Lately, almost nothing works.

do people actually post here before trying to install?? what I mean to say is, without testing?

osx 10.15 here the ol2 file disappears from the gem folder, I think that is maybe a Catalina issue but I'm not sure?

till anyone can find a fix for this ill be using my 1176ln uad, would rather use this as it frees up some dsp on my Apollo

Please see my comment above. Check you hosts file remain blocked after reboot. My license files also disappeared without registering the plugs before I blocked with Little Snitch instead. Mac os has other processes controlling DNS than the hosts file. I don't know what they are, but hosts file block didn't work for me either. good luck.

It's actually really work, but the instruction not really clear.
You just need to block your firewall from www.overloud.com, you can google it.
note: the point is you have to make this plugin stay away from accessing the website.
