Any mic you got a calibrated text file for it should be good, Best results are with the ik mems, I tried it with original arc mic, sonarworks mic with it's own unique calibrated txt and a mems, can notice the difference although their reasonably close but not close enough for beating mems for best results. Mems is just more precise as ik know the mic capsule and tune the software more accuracy than you can to a calibration file. The mems are not great mics other than to measure, where as the other two can be useful for recording audio.

How this compares to Reference 4? Does it also have a standalone version to correct your system's audo (let's say when you listen to spotify)? Does it work for headphones? I have the ECM8000 but if the results are not as accurate i'm hesitating if it's worth trying. Thanks in advance limpets!

Most DAWs support "monitoring FX" which apply to your whole mix but are not rendered to final file. In Reaper just go to View/Monitoring FX.

i bought a thomann measure mic bc the berhinger wasnt avalaible, but it don't come with calibration file. how to generate this anyone have a clue?

Probably need to send it off for calibration results and have a file created as unless it's a men's type that can be manufactured all accurately they all end up giving different results. One mans ecm8000 isn't same as another's, even if there is a general calibration file for it available.
