AFAIK the r4e version is basically a repack of the P2P version, with all cracked files integrated for a smooth and errorless install.

I had 6.2.2, too.
The file names are different:
"Kontakt.dll" & "Kontakt.exe" - "Kontakt6.dll" & "Kontakt6.exe", etc.
I renamed them after the upgrade (I manually placed the files).
I have only tested in FL Studio and standalone so far but it seems fine.

This can be repacked with RAR into a 145MB archive. "Whoever" packed it just stored the files into a RAR archive to keep the 443MB size. Just repack it to save 300MB of space if you want. Upgrade went smoothly. It's easy, couldn't be easier.

Maybe it is a problem with the name of the .DLL ?
If you have 6.2.1, it was probably named "Kontakt6.dll" & this is just "Kontakt.dll"
Mine was 6.2.2 & I have the same issue.
Trying to decide if I should rename the DLL or have to rescan with every DAW and APP I have.
I do not know WHY they use different names.
If someone wants to retain other versions, it seems to me it would be better to let THEM do the renaming.
[EDIT: I am not saying that the "Kontakt6" name was the proper one; only that there are different names.
It may have been Native Instruments who changed the names for all I know ]

looking at the file info of the actual file it says version 6.3.1. and my file names are the same . there have been times when a group or individual wanting to play hero renames files and releases them as new updates when they are just old version. oh well 6.3 seems to be working good ill wait for another update and try that one

I use this manually placing the files and then renaming them to Kontakt6.
I did the same with the portable just released.
All seems to work fine and I will rename all to just "Kontakt.***" later sometime and do rescans and make new shortcuts.
It IS a nice thing that the filename can be changed.

I only use the portable these days so I am not sure why I am even installing the normal one.
I think I did it to check out an issue someone was having but I can't recall now.

I just now updated to 6.3.1. Sample Logic Kontakt libraries which needs the Preset folders to be moved to User/Documents/Native Instruments/Kontakt are having issues. The presets are not being read and the preset bar remains empty. Non of the sound patches can be loaded. Anyone facing this issue? Can you advise how to resolve this one?
