Harrison 5th generation Mixbus processing engine with many improvements including smoother operation, extensive latency compensation, and cue-monitoring (the ability to hear live input and playback at the same time on a track).

Does it support vst3 yet? I can't visit their website to check because it got blocked when I installed v5 (and I can never remember what the document that you have to edit is called and located haha).

For the DAW to have more opportunities, it could have support for VST3 plugins.

It would also have to actually be a *good* DAW to work in, which it isn't. Nice concept but it's chasing rainbows to think going from your main DAW just to mix in this is somehow going to make your mixes easier/better. I'll stick with Pro Tools thanks which is already the single best audio editor and mixer on Earth when it comes to actual mixing and (audio) production. I'm guessing thousands of other pros and semi pros will do the same.

I did try it out once and was shocked by how awful the ergonomics/GUI and workflow was. Just stick HEAT on if you're in ProTools (which works at the mix engine level similar to this and S1's console shaper) and some good modern plugs like BX_Console and IK Tape and stay in your preferred DAW for the whole thing.

Not to mention there's no stunning controller to mix in mixbus with like you get with Pro Tools (Icon D-Command/Control or S6). I guarantee mixing on one of those 'feels like a real console' controllers + PT HD will give you better mixes than dumping stems into this puppy and tweaking those tiny EQ knobs with a mouse.

Maybe it's you. I can make a mix pop in less than half the time with mixbus compared to protools. And you don't have to pile on plugins. And it sounds considerably better.

OK, you've convinced me to give it a shot. It's only 99 mb anyway. That's like a tenth of the size of a Rob Papen plug-in so it's not like it's taking up disk space.

Well, it does use the algorithms from their flagship console. Just with all the faders at 0 and nothing panned, you can hear the difference. I use the channel eq and comp/limiter/leveler on just about all the instruments except the vocals I'll add additional compression, deesser etc.

Agreed, DashSlap, but it does have a nice vybe to it.
Unfortunately, that can't save it from the fact that it feels and looks as though it was created by dinosaurs. I'm no stranger to hardware and, honestly? This layout looks like it was made by someone who knew it was necessary to dive into the computer age, but didn't want anything scary and new. The workflow can only be described as inherently cumbersome, and certainly doesn't bring to mind what I assume they were going for, which is a hardware feel and/or flow.
As I said, it does have a nice sound to it, but nothing a few plugins do for you.

is anyone having problems with registration?

I'm using linux version and generated license works OK but I still get white noise from time to time like when you're not registered.

yeah, I realized that after testing windows version.

It's sad that linux version is often forgotten by the scene, few teams release same day patches/binaries.

let's hope for a change as I only use linux for music production.

I'm gonna buy it anyway, Harrison are really cool guys, just wanted to try it without any white noise.

For Mac users who may be interested (I've read the rules and hopefully this is allowed).. The windows keygen works on the Mac demo dowloaded from the official site, you just need an app like Wine to open the keygen. Then locate the text files it creates (Z drive on my computer), copy them to desktop or wherever you like and when the Mixbus App asks for the text authorisation file you can authorise the App!

Still noise bursts here (edit: with the method below):
macOs user, i've done this with Parallels:
1) Launch keygen in Parallels
2) Go to Computer\C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local
3) Open license_key_harrison_mixbus32c-6.txt and copy text
4) Launch Mixbus 32c, paste license and authorize

Hey no worries man, for some reason as we've been speaking the noise bursts have stopped (For now) whilst I was trying open the keygen in Parallels.I couldn't for some reason (Not sure if you have a suggestion or not?) I tried File, Open then trie to look for the Keygen but it wouldn't let me see the App as an openable file.

Anyways all seems to be fine for now, will report if any changes :-)

Love Mixbus by the way, sounds and feels like a piece of Analog equipment (Obviously nowhere near as good haha) but for someone without money for a decent Mixing desk at the moment, it is a good substitute. You like? Compared to Logic etc.

To everybody, be careful: the noise burst are erratic and very faint... at first i didn't hear them on the integrated speakers, so i tested them cranking the compressor on the master bus and waiting. Unfortunately they come back every now and then.

Apart from the macOs DIY keygen method, i have to say that the interface of Mixbus 32c v. 6 is much clearer on my relatively smaller screen, so i would gladly try it and maybe use it as a streamlined rock production DAW

Latest version 6.1 just released. Can't say if R2R 6.0 keygen works as I'm in the middle of a project using it. Maybe have to wait out for an official R2R release but I'll try out old keygen after my projects finished and post if successful.
