Big problem with this one: it says that it wanna install visual C++ 2013 x64 (vcredist_64.exe, which is already installed in my system), and generate an error saying that it can't install it.

This problem is apparently well known in the Magix users forum, but none of the solutions evoked works on my sys:
Win10 x64 v1903.

Of course i tried to uninstall the vc_redist installed on my sys to let the installer install its own version (result=none), at a moment i thought that perhaps it's because my syst. language is set to French, tried to install "vcredist_x64.exe" (2013) in both languages... but nothing works.

"Run as admin" is like pissing in a violin, the installer doesn't care.

It refuses to install because it needs to install some useless visual runtime... that is already installed, but throw the same error even if you have NO VC++ installed on your system.

One possible solution: edit the *.msi to suppress totally this dependency, i remember that there was some progs that can edit the install script inside a *.msi.

Unfortunately i'm not savvy enough to be able to do that without errors nor mistakes, so in case someone savvy reads this message here is the complete install folder (that the installer decompress in the %Temp% folder):
download from free file storage
Prove that you're not a Bot to get Download Links

Though there's a second problem to take care of: if you go into this folder and try to install directly from the *.msi, it throws an error complaining that it must be installed "from the DVD or the downloaded installer" (=*.exe). That's really a lame security measure, and also i'm sure it could be easily bypassed.

And here's a capture of the persistant error:

EDIT: Another solution could be to tell installer to force-install whatever version of ms c++ runtime it needs, whatever what is already installed on the system, (force) writing the registry values it needs to tell "everything is OK" to fulfill the install.

Last edit before goin' to hell jam with Hendrix: I found the simplest solution, not only for me but for all those whom have the same problem: please make a portable version!,

...So everything shall illuminate like a frackin' Xxx-mas tree, there'll be (sampled) angels flappin' ev'rywhere, and finally the whole humanity will occupy all its time makin' love'n'music, in peeeaaace...

(Rrrrhhhemmm... sort of... Just a way of sayin'... Ya see the picture?)

A bunch of thanks and gratitude in advance!

I notice that the Vegas releases include the vc_redist packages in a separate folder.
I never have had to install them. Too bad they could not have separated them with this!

Thanks for your answer, in fact these "redist" files are included in this release too, compressed inside the *.exe, and there's a strong probability that those included with Vegas are exactly the same.

But the problem imho don't lies here, it is with the installation scripts (the *.msi). Imho there's something bugged in there.

I have the same exact error as you I'm surprised you're the only other person to mentioned this problem with the installer .

So frustrating, so I gave up on trying this DAW. If you ever find a solution please update me, thank you.

From my (noobish) pov, the simplest solution could be to elaborate a Portable version, so no bugged install anymore!

What do you (or others) think about this idea?
