This is a pretty decent emulation of a classic 80's wavetable synth, albeit without the analogue filters.
A good tradesman never blames their tools.
You carry on 'conforming to the norm' because 'no one used 80's synth sounds anymore', whilst the rest of us experiment.
In 2010 I gave up women and Booze. It was the worst 20 minutes of my life.
