Why is this suddenly so huge?

Predator 2 used to be 136 mb. And even that's huge for a "normal" Synth without tons of waveforms, no?

Can anyone elaborate on the size?

I think it has to do with NKS.. not sure since im not using it but someone said so for some other product from Rapen..

Absolutely ridiculous, of the many people I know locally, there are only two who use NI hardware! Now it turns out that because of a small number of users, everyone else has to multiply by 10 the use of their internet DL quota. WTF?

Well i use it but just not this Predator.. but anyway.. this is what was said regarding Blue II:

The NKS make it so big. It's useless to most people, but teams include it,
otherwise someone will surely complain it's not included. On Mac:
AU+VST+AAX installer = 386Mb
NKS+AU+VST+AAX installer = 1.3GB

and i guess it correct..

I've installed it, and the installer comes like this, because it contains 1.5 GB of "Native Instruments Maschine & Komplete Komtrol Integration" files.

So VR is not to blame, but Rop Pappen because they put it together with the installer.
A separated installer would have been a better idea.

of course there is, actually it is the one offered by default on RP site,
then there's also the NKS one, if one wants it.
i.e. Hexwars release for this is 213MB, as they use
the normal RP installer and not the NKS one.
They also released once Punch with NKS,
but it became too big for no reason. If one needs NKS,
can first install demo, then install release over it.

I read that the installer of this gives the option to uncheck the NKS nonsense, so it wont be installed if you don't want or need it. Is that true or not Oly since you installed it? Can you uncheck the NKS stuff in the installer? Otherwise i will stick with the smaller R2R version.

Yes it's true, when installing you can chose not to install Native Instruments related files.
But, still, if you are on win and you use it, you will want to keep the installer in case any problem occurs, and it's a shame to keep 1.5 GB installer for a 146MB installed files.
