Audio Modelling SWAM Engine SWAM Violin v2.0.1 CE-V.R screenshot
TEAM V.R | 09 Aug 2018 | 5.09 MB
SWAM Violin is the most realistic, real-time controllable and expressive virtual violin on the market. Unlike mere sample libraries, all SWAM products including SWAM Violin are not simple recordings of notes, but real virtual instruments that guarantee via MIDI controller the same natural reactions a real instrument would have.

Developed by Audio Modeling using the SWAM Technology (Synchronous Waves Acoustic Modeling), a combination of innovative performance techniques and concepts of physical and behavioral modeling, SWAM Violin doesn’t include any samples and is extremely lightweight (only a few Megabytes).

The smallest footprint of SWAM Violin puts aside the issue of Giga-sized pre-recorded libraries, and its organic consistency is the result of the various expressive parameters that are unique of every live performance and typical of traditional instruments. You can use SWAM Violin for Classical, Country, Pop music and any other musical genre, by layering it in a section with no artifacts and simply selecting different timbres for each instance.

All SWAM Engine digitally handcrafted acoustic instruments allow you to control the expression of a virtual acoustic instrument: whereas a sample library repeats a pre-recorded sound, SWAM instruments play for real.

Supported formats and OS:
Audio Units, VST, AAX – 64bit only
Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

All the following parameters are controllable in real-time (through MIDI) or by a Digital Audio Workstation:
Expression (Dynamic)
Note transitions (Staccato / Legato / Portamento) with no KeySwitches
Bow Pressure
Bow Position
Play Mode (Bowed, Pizzicato, Col Legno)

first of all, to hear the sound you need the breath controller or the expression pedal, while at least you can automate the expression parameter manually in your daw to just get the sound,

and yes, you can play with piano roll BUT in my opinion it's to hard to get a good result like that!

Thanks go to EmAD and PiRAT,

Yes, you can use the mouse in the piano roll or your PC/Mac keyboard to trigger the notes in FL Studio
Thanks to all involved !

yea you can use onscreen keyboard in your daw,
you may need to map some CC's so it plays properly, but it does work that simple,
long time ago when I was messing with that, I realized best midi controller for such instruments is seaboard by roli

*sigh* Amazing! Xmas is really early this year! Also too hot for snow, but who gives af? :D Great to check these out, <3 vio. Super playable! Today my words are somewhere between Deadpool & The Handmaid's Tale!*

Oh yeah, warning, if ya have VSTi sorted by vendor (or whatev) it appears under "Audio modelling" for reasons. Except for soprano sax for some (other) mysterious reason!

Thx a lot EmAD & Team V.R!

Oh, trying these out with FL Studio I cannot work out the midi learn bit because the instrument doesn't recognise my controller. Anybody else with an FLS issue?

It may be recognising ur controller, but it needs to receive expression input to respond (play noise =) If you look on the MIDI mapping page in the VSTi, it will let you map (ie) CC1 to expression. It does work:

Only 5 MB, how far reaches the human mind, able to reproduce perfect nuances of the instruments. But for those who think it's in the profit, got screwed, will have to spend a good amount of money to buy a C11 expression pedal, or for those who have a keyboard controller, one can program the sliders to represent the C11, some keyboards allow set the Bender to this function.
