TEAM V.R | 28 March 2018 | 283.82 MB
BIAS AMP 2 is the ultimate virtual amp designer, authentically recreating the tone and feel of real tube amplifiers, while allowing you to mix and match components to create your ideal amp. You can use Amp Match to clone the tone of real hardware or a guitar track, or connect to the ToneCloud® to gain access to thousands of custom amps from artists and recording studios, or upload your own custom tones to the cloud.

BIAS AMP 2 adds two new custom amp packs to your sonic palette. Blues is all about gooey clean to mid-gain amps, and Bass brings amps and speaker cabs just for bass guitars. Add in all of the custom component options, and you have literally thousands of custom amps at your fingertips. There’s nothing else like it!

BIAS AMP 2 represents a revolution in virtual amplifier design, providing the tools to take your ultimate guitar tone with you anywhere, from the studio to the stage and back again.

WHAT’S NEW IN BIAS AMP 2

DYNAMIC TONE ENGINE
For BIAS AMP 2 we worked with artists, engineers and recording studios to improve the already hyper-authentic touch response of our amplifier circuits. The result is a new playing experience, with increased touch responsiveness and dynamics. With new tubes, transformer, dynamic tone control and a completely redesigned speaker cabinet module with multi-mic capability, you now have the tools to take your tone explorations further than ever before!

BIAS MEETS CELESTION
When it comes to speakers, Celestion is the most trusted name in the history of rock and roll. Their drivers have been used on more classic songs and tones than any other manufacturer, and their impulse responses are the favorites of guitarists ranging from Pete Thorn and Scott Henderson to George Lynch. We’ve partnered with Celestion to make their IR’s easier to use than ever before, so you can forget loading individual files! Just select a custom Celestion cab and start moving the mics around – BIAS AMP 2 does the rest.

REDESIGNED AMP PACKS
BIAS AMP 2 adds two new custom amp packs to your sonic palette. Blues is all about gooey clean to mid-gain amps, and Bass brings amps and speaker cabs just for bass guitars. Add in all of the custom component options, and you have literally thousands of custom amps at your fingertips. There’s nothing else like it!

LUSH REVERBS
BIAS AMP 2 features nine built-in reverbs - ranging from huge halls to intimate rooms - with full control over their size and character. Between the different reverb types and the extensive filtering and saturation options, BIAS AMP 2 has all your reverb needs covered.

NEW
AMP MATCH

AMP Match can already match the tone of any mic’d reference amp, but we’ve made it even better in BIAS AMP 2: now matching a tone is as easy as importing an audio file! Not only that, if you aren’t all that familiar with dialing amps yourself you can ask AMP Match to guess the circuit for you. You’ll get faster and better results no matter what your skill level is, making it even easier to get to your ideal tone.

THE WORLD’S MOST EXTENSIVE LIBRARY OF PRO TONES
The tone-creation possibilities are nearly infinite with BIAS AMP 2, which comes with 100 new custom amps in a variety of genres. Download artists' signature amps, or try out the latest and most popular matched amp models created by your fellow guitarists. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you play or what kind of tone you’re looking for – chances are good that it’s on the ToneCloud®.

BIAS FX INTEGRATION
BIAS AMP was designed to integrate directly with BIAS FX, Positive Grid’s flagship amp-and-effects processing environment. All of the custom amplifiers you create with BIAS AMP 2 are automatically available in BIAS FX, providing a foundation for your ideal finished tone. Start with an amp that fits your playing like a glove in BIAS AMP 2, and then open it in BIAS FX and add pedal and racks effects. It’s a seamless and revolutionary workflow, making it easier than ever to create your own signature tones!

Team V.R

eXTended:
allow download preset with Modern Vintage cabinets
bypassed catalog DRM encryption - now allow manual edit preset catalog file
added over 1500 optimized offline presets

Warning:
Since the old preset catalog (if exist) will be overwritten, you can manually revert your custom presets by editing the catalog file c:\Users\%CURRENTUSERNAME%\Documents\PositiveGrid\BIAS_Amp2\GlobalPresets\cate.json
But do not add too many unoptimized presets - subj has a restriction on the total volume of PNG images and when it exceeds it does not load :(
A large number of presets also slow down the feedback of the interface, due to its ugly architecture - java scripts over Chrome web engine

Game ON Team V.R I knew it was only a matter of time. All "New" presets/Amps work and recognized in Bias FX. Good S**T guys. Thank you so so much...

Update: In Bias FX, It still asks for activation of the Celestion-Modern Vintage speaker IR's. Would be nice to have them unlocked, But don't really use them anyway...

Hi guys! How does this compare to S-Gear? Cheers

Haven't tested this 2 version:
* Bias Amp has good dynamics but S-Gear seems to be still the king in that
* It's slightly less CPU hungry but extremely RAM hungry
large number of presets also slow down the feedback of the interface, due to its ugly architecture - java scripts over Chrome web engine

Yeah, it's literally launching an internal Chrome (Chromium) browser for the GUI
* More amp models and amp matching. If you target a very specific tone or an extremely high gain one Bias is better
* The big question is the Cab sim quality/features. Until now you could say they were even. Still based on IRs though
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

The Celestion speakers are too harsh IMHO!!! :(

This happens if you installed All of the presets. Even with a very fast computer it takes about 2 or 3 minutes to load but works fine when it's done loading. Hope this helps

Hey guys, It seems everyone is having problems with the loading of the program. V.R has downloaded all of the custom presets from the Tone Cloud for us. But in doing so, It takes Bias Amp all the more time to load up. Just fire it up and wait for it to load. It is Totally worth it. It also bogs Bias FX down as well but still worth it when it's running. Even with a fast computer with tons of RAM, It takes mine about 3 minutes to fire up fully. Hope this helps...

Does it take 3 min everytime or just once?
edit: tried it takes 3 min every time to load

Thanks for the input, had to wait a bit longer than that, but it worked.

Yes, its not really practical to wait soo long to open it (I too have a powerful pc, with 64GB of RAM, but that doesn't seem to help much). I created a short cut in the VST folder and deleted what I'm not using at the time and put it back when I am using it (e.g. doing Metal stuff, and delete the others and put them back later, then if doing blues stuff then delete all but blues. Its much faster than waiting so long. Easier to delete/re-add if you put a short cut on the desktop. The program doesn't seem to mind the folders disappear and reappear.

can download presets from the cloud?
  Resident 15.11.2013 3 1475

Yes, with this version (not the R2R version) you can use sound cloud. I have used it several times and downloaded several with no problems (so far). They might stop access in the near future, but we will have to see.

Thanks for this Team V.R. Can anyone give me some guidance on how to load presets? I see there is a Bias folder in "Documents" with Global presets and they are in a .json format. I take it that this is where the 1500 presets are located but being new to Bias I have no idea how to load them. When I go to import preset it is looking for .bpp. Anyone help would be appreciated. Cheers.

If you have just done a normal install (without any changes) they should be already there in your list there's nothing to import they are (or should be) already in your list to choose.
That's why it takes so long to open.

Thanks for the response Music Man. Should all of the presets be in "Custom"? I have uninstalled, cleaned the registry and reinstalled 3 times and I only see a list of 15 amp choices in each category with the Custom category being empty. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Yes - you have to create an account, with a nick name and a password, to download but doesn't ask any purchase info :)
Probably just need a nickname/account so you can upload too and so you comment on the various amps and rate them :)
