Not really but sort of. It's closer to using a synth but with a really heavy emphasis on the sequencer. Effectrix is a grid-based thing.

Not at all, but you can get some great "glitchiness" out of it, with far more control over the outcome than something like Effectrix. It's got some unique sounding filters when they're combined in interesting ways. This thing is more like CamelSpace, but I like Tantra much better.

I like this version more than the 2nd edition probably adquired by Plugin Alliance.
