Maximal is a loudness maximiser, featuring an advanced lookahead peak limiter and analogue modelled saturation. The multi-stage limiter section features next-level lookahead, automatic makeup gain, and adaptive and responsive release. This plugin will smoothly limit any peaks in the audio, and automatically increase the overall level. The analogue modelled tape and tube saturation modes encompass all the best parts of the analogue world, without all the bad parts - such as high-frequency roll-off, hiss, wow and flutter.

Venomode has updated the Loudness Maximiser Maximal 2 to version 2.1. This update adds support for VST3, and a few bug fixes.

Maximal 2 makes tracks warm and loud by using a combination of lookahead peak limiting, variable state soft clipping, and analogue saturation.

Changes for 2.1.0:

Added VST3 support in Mac OS X and Windows.
Fixed a bug in the preset browser in 32-bit Windows.
Refined the oversampling algorithm for more speed.

Just tried this... my other limters/maximizers can take a running jump off a cliff... I won't try to save them either lol.... this maximizer is clean as hell and the tape mode, my gawd... - INSTANT PHATNESS

Since iZotope Maximizer is also available somewhere here, you can compare them by yourself. Or maybe are you not even able to ear any difference and just want someone telling you where to classify this one in your plugins collection, which sits next to the complete one of Spire's banks...

Due to a bug in version 2.1 of Maximal, we have removed this version, and reverted back to 2.0. Please revert back to 2.0 if you are having problems, and we will release a patch shortly.

Warning, v2.1 causes freezing Ableton and HUGE CPU spikes when just starting the plugin.

Do not install this v2.1 plugin, use v2.0 instead or wait for new update.

The loudest limiter to date is AOM Invisible Limiter. It is also very transparent.
Ozone can be loud, too, but to make it loud you need to shorten the release time, and then the sound gets harsh (looses bottom).
Maximal 2 may be not as loud, but it smoothes the sound without making it obviously compressed.
My advice: try Maximal 2 (tape mode, e.g. Phat Mix preset) -> Invisible Limter.
