If anyone has issues getting the Geist installer to launch on Mac OS X just make sure to reset the App's permissions using: sudo chmod -R 755 and then dragging the app into the terminal window to complete the path. Make sure there is a space between 755 and the app path. In other news what in the heck is going on with click hijacking and the Audioz site?! I'm getting malware popup windows after every click!

Rename pattern first!!!!! Because you,ll end up with the same freaking sample over and over again... :-)

Huge apologies...
Tried once more with a fresh set of eyes and i was completely forgetting to close the manager down and reopen before inputting any info "with kgen runnin" I didnt remember the sequence correctly and had to dig out an old r2r info sheet from an older release..

Anyway works on win 7 64bit fl12.3 But its pretty buggy i must say..and as far as i can tell i cant sort out the gui size as 100% is the minimum. and seems to use more more cpu than v1...
Hmm is it just me or does it seem to initially have lost some of the old functionality.......
Appreciate the hell outta the release tho cheers!!

could anyone who used it tell me/us, what the benefit of geist is?

I use ableton with drum racks and the great midi editing which make ableton so strong.

What is geist good at?

it's good at being overcomplicated imo. Honestly I'd stick with Drum Racks or even Xfer nerve if you really want the step sequencer as its much more refined. Geist is very very deep but total overkill when using it as a plug in imo.

i really like abletons functions, and geist seems like it has all that too
but within the plugin and more complicated.

but it sure has its place for example in DAWs like protools that don't really have the right midi/rack/library functionality.

nerve is very cool as a sequencer but i have no clue how to make a song with it...

Geist isn't really complicated, even though V2 has gotten some serious additions. As an Ableton user, it's VERY hard to go against Drum Racks.
