The previous Omnisphere update kept crashing my PROPER installation, despite multiple clean install attempts. It worked but would continuosly xrash Cubase. Be interested to hear if this one is more stable.

Got it to work. Must use this R2R patcher!

- First install the update
- Drag both Component and VST to desktop
- Click show package content
- Go to Contents > MacOS > Omnisphere
- That is the file to patch using the R2R keygen
- I dragged that Omnisphere file to my wine Desktop folder
- Run R2R keygen
- Click Patch
- Locate the Omnisphere file in the wine Desktop
- Once patched, drag it back into the MacOS folder
- Do this for both the component and vst file
- Put the component and vst back to its respective folders
- Run Omnisphere 2
- Your old key from initial install will now be accepted

can someone just wetransfer and inbox me the patched Componet and vst Mac files for this updates.. So I can just throw it in the folders.... 4 days
i been trying to update this and nothing works.. Im over it'. I gueas I'm staying at 2.0.3 for now... This download nor did any of the other ominsphere update releases came with a Patched vst and component fle nor does the Keygen work.... smh
Extremely grateful for this community.

Windows 7 64 Pro. Everything was fine up until the update (2.20e) that was released a couple weeks back. Some people reported no problems but for me Cubase 8.5 just wouldn't accept it. I did fresh installs (removing everything spectrasonics related first). It worked and was functional but it would crash ALLL the time. Im still on the original omni 2 release which works perfectly except for the patches being forgotten. Stlll it's easy to save them each project. Much less hassle than the instability i was getting with the above mentioned update.

Do read at least once ALL Finesse's post, then you'll see the light!
There are a bunch of clues (Component = AU, MacOS folder...) to guess confidently these are tips for Mac users.

I didn't perform this update. But, 2.2.0e still gives me the same issue (of opening a blank Omnisphere instance). Why is Omnisphere opening default?...

Is this a cumulative update? or can one can go from the original R2R K and just apply this without doing the "in-between" ones which seem to cause problems?

Thanks plomerus, I usually wait a day or 4 to install updates and follow these threads obviously to see the "gotcha's" etc.... And Omnisphere 2 seems to have been a bit of difficult one to put one's finger on. Some people it works great, some people it doesn't, and a lot of the times it doesn't fall into the "no0b who did it wrong" category, (no offense intended to anyone, we all started somewhere!:)), .... so I have been staying with the known commodity of the first release... to be honest, I don't use Omni that much, know it's power, but I just kinda use other things outta habit....

and since I do a LOT of preset tweaking, the "no recall" problem is NOT one I want to encounter... so any bug fixes or optimizations of the plugin itself are not more important to me then just a working version.... So will hold off a bit as usual....

This does seem like a wonder synth to many, so if I DID use it, would definitely be on the purchase list... if i were to pull my sleeves up, it seems like this isn't some plugin I would use once and move on... :)

agreed. and that is what I have always done with Omni2 since the problems arose. Just took getting burnt once. So I never use it anymore, or just do, make patch, drop as audio, move on..... if it was something I thought I might might want to modify later or was "that" important, I might do a screen shot. So in the end, just was waiting for other shoe to drop, and I guess that shoe that was dropped was just omni2 in general. oh well.

and I remember the ADAT days well, and ALWAYS duping those, as they would get eaten on pretty much a 33% rate! I don't remember not having one not eject, that would have really sucked.

I mostly used my adats though with a 4 channel PT system, and would just bounce to ADAT to make some open tracks in that.... do NOT miss those days!

Your dialog is appreciated (what I'm really here for). It only has to happen once, in most cases. You perform the work of the gods, and then there is nothing to show for it... Someone once said to me, if it doesn't exist in 3 places, it doesn't exist. Backups have saved my sanity, I promise.

As for Omnisphere, this plugin costs too much (I was considering buying it) for the presets to not be recalled. I'm a tweaker, too. I couldn't imagine that being an issue to deal with after buying the product.
