Thanks for the share R2R & funtime.

Based on the Note, I presume it would be possible to patch the DEMO version of GuitarRig...which is what I am going to try and do for Mac. Hope it works - will report back in a few hours!

** Update, no dice! Version 5.2.1 isn't even available off NI site - at least in Demo mode yet.

I hope it is ok, that i write this here:

I have a huge problem when i try to install this. I always get the message "Unable to uninstall old version of Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5....." I had an old assign 5.0.2 version of Guitar Rig 5 installed. I tried to deinstall and got some kind of error, that i can't fully remember. But it is gone frome the control panel/folders. I already made a manual search in the registry and deleted everything that had guitar rig 5 in it, but i still get this message.
Man i am fucked if i cant get this to run. I would be so thankful if someone has an idea how to solve this.

I can't speak for Windows, but I know on MAC - there are XML files that typically get left behind whenever something is removed/uninstalled. You may still have a rogue file or two that is still on your machine somewhere, even after install. Have you tried looking in the NI Service Center to see if it shows Guitar Rig is there or not? Not sure if a cracked version would show up there, but it might be worth taking a look to see if it's still showing up there - as that would definitely indicate (at least to the installer) that you still have GR 5.0.2 on your machine. Hope this helps bud?

There are a few other things you could try as well
reinstall the old assign v 5.0.2 then try install the update.
if that don't work
reinstall the old assign v 5.0.2 into sandboxie
then search in the sandbox to see were all the files are installed
they will be in the same place on your pc from the frist install,
you can then try remove them yourself from these folders
or you can unpack the update see what files are in it
and find were they go from looking in the sandbox
replacing the old for new as you go,
any files that you find installed in the sandbox under all users
i think are in C:\ProgramData on your pc but hope the frist fix works.

four reg places to look in,you should backup your full reg frist before messing around with it,after its backed up use 7zip to pack it into about 10 mb and keep it in a safe place,

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Native Instruments]

this reg i had to remove the numbers after 21- should find it easy do
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-\Software\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5]

First of all, thanks for all the replies!!

The problem is, that i cant install ANY version of guitar rig now!
I searched everything, every guitar rig file on my system, everything i could find in the registry, still the same problem! I tried Microsoft Fix-it, even typen in the product code by hand, failed.
There is some little file/reg on my system which causes this....
As it looks now, i have to format and reinstall windows.......DAMN xD

will see if i can send you a fix pack ok give me a while to sort it out will take a hr or so but try restart your pc and see if that helps to install the update?

no matter what i do, doen't let me install any version of guitar rig 5 now, always says "Unable to deinstall old version of Native.....blabla"
i won't reinstall windows until tomorrow anyways, but i already have prepared everything for it^^. At least i have a fresh system then^^.

i just got the same error Unable to uninstall old version
was trying to install useing the setup .msi
have you tryed runing the setup.exe is installing now

The Installer Log are here just incase you need to find them again C:\ProgramData\Native Instruments\Installer Log

if it don't work your on your own.
i do this fix to get NI plugins to work on xp
but it didnt work on xp this time need to update files ect
in other words win 7 and over it will only work in,

B/C I KNOW I HAVE ALWAYS RAN INTO TROUBLE DOING THAT,
SO OF COURSE I'D HAVE TO ACTUALLY ((MOUNT/RUN)) FROM DESKTOP
