when i try to run the installer, I keep getting the message "caught vexception in main function. cannot continue operation...blah blah...variable to write location is NULL! cannot continue without a valid variable name".. windows 8.1 64-bit

any help appreciated..could someone else check this please?

I got the error also but doesn't matter as u have everything u need. Just extract what u need.
Install 1.5.0.11 R2R then activate with 1.7.0.5 R2R keygen.
As u know FXpansion licence centre is pathetic so make shortcut on desktop & work offline etc.
Don't check for updates.
Then simply replace the contents of the 1.5.0.11 installation folders with extracted 1.7.0.5 data. Update VST plugins delete old shortcuts etc & create new ones.
Then fire it up and 1.7.0.5 loads no problem. Works fine 4 me on win 10 x 64
