With KONTAKT, you can sound like a snare drum, a symphony orchestra, or anything in between, from a universe of sampled instruments. It’s a simple sampler when you want it to be, and a deep sonic scripting laboratory when you need something more. The next generation of the world’s favorite sampling platform gives you new instruments and new features under the hood – so you can layer, link, stretch, and shape your sounds any way you can imagine.

• Tools : MIDI effects that work with all Kontakt instruments. The Chords section includes a large collection of chord progressions, allowing you to play them by pressing a single key. Similarly, the Phrases section allows you to play melodies by pressing a single key.
• Leap : Allows you to play loops and one-shots, comes with new effects and a streamlined interface for quickly customizing samples.
• Default View : The new default view of the sidebar lets you connect MIDI effects to instruments, mix different rack instruments, and quickly load and change presets for both effects and instruments.

How to install Kontakt 8 PORTABLE.

1. Create an empty folder. The name of the folder itself and the path to it MUST NOT CONTAIN CYRILLIC. The folder MUST BE WRITTEN (it cannot be installed in the Program Files folder).
2. Run the installer (KontaktPortable_v801.exe).
3. Click the Browse... button and select the created empty folder.
4. Click the Extract button.
5. The first time you launch the Library Manager, it will automatically scan the factory content, as well as the already installed libraries (scanning in the registry).
After scanning is complete, you must save the changes and (re)launch Kontakt.
If the changes were not saved the first time you launched it, you can launch the automatic scan at any time using the Alt + Insert key combination or from the context menu of the Manager:
ADD > quick search for installed libraries

By default, libraries are added only to the classic browser (except for factory content). This behavior can be changed in the Library Manager settings:
Libraries > Manage Libraries in NKS Browser

How to add Kontakt 8 PORTABLE VST3 to DAW.

Method 1 (not suitable for all DAWs):
Add the Kontakt8Portable\Kontakt 8\x64\VST3\ folder as an additional plugin scanning folder. For details, refer to your DAW's manual.
Method 2.
Run Kontakt8Portable\Install.exe
On the component selection page, check the "Add VST3 plugin to DAW" box.

The vst 3 version does not work for me!
Cubase 13 windows 11
I tried several solutions and nothing works.
I usually use the portable versions.
The stand alone version works well and I have recovered all my libraries

Actually I found the solution, I had to modify the security properties of my user account on the "Kontakt 8 portable" folder and check the "full control" and "modifications" options for it to work. This way the plugin is scanned by cubase and works correctly. I had already had this problem with another version of kontakt portable

VST3 version is working fine here on Bitwig 5.2.4 after adding the Kontakt VST3 folder in the portable version directly as plugin source in Bitwig settings.

I had deleted the link to this Kontakt VST3 folder previously.

Just can't get Cubase 13 pro to find this thing on Windows. But no worries, I'm pulling it in through Unify from Plugin Guru. Great plugin!

So, I am not the only one with VST3 problem. I am on WIN 10. I have tried many suggestions, with no success.
The Stand Alone works very well, but VST3 asks for activation. buy , or demo. Activation wants email and activation key.

Thanks @ fredmiche for the info. Unfortunately, the security properties were already checked as you described. i do get the vst3 plug to show up , but it is wanting activation on pop up screen. I can get the pop up to go away by selecting "Demo", but then I experience the Demo noise. If I shut down, and reboot, The "Activate" pop up is blocking usage again, until I select Demo.
I tried all the other posts, but this one has the least problems. The activations screen appears on all the versions of vst3.
The StandAlone works perfectly, but I have no use for it.

A shame there is no activation key or patch.

Finally, after testing all posted versions, vkDanilov one is what really works fine for me. All libs registered, all working, really nice, tools with Piano One can be used with other instruments. THANKS vkD, THANKS !!!

Yes in the K7P folders there is a folder user data. In there there is a cfg file. Copy that to K8P user data folder, but first back up your K7 and 8 userdata folders just to be sure.
