IT IS the original setup + a legit keyfile THAT are being USED... ?

EVEN without Internet, the app should install and run just fine, right ?

I actually got it to work after I renamed the .txt file to SynthMasterLicenceKey.txt. I didn't have to disconnect from the internet at all. I just installed 2.8 over the hexwars 2.6 and copied the .txt file to %DOCUMENTS%\SynthMaster. All my presets are still there and everything is good. I guess I was just too dumb to know to rename the file (i need .nfo files yo to explain this shiz). Thanks for the tip

i got it to work on mac! delete the synthmasterconfig.txt and restart your mac and it will run fine

edit: after trying to go through presets it crashed again....i'll be back

For OSX users
Maybe this helps. If you have installed the 2.6 Version of Synthmaster delete the related .components (instrument + fx) and the SynthMasterFolders.txt file in the Components folder .
The go to Library/Application Support/ Kvr Synthmaster and delete the folder (it containst the old stuff and licsense from 2.6 and the .txt file from the component folder pointing to this folder. When you have deleted all the old stuff make a clean install of 2.8 ! Put the SynthMasterLicenceKey.txt in Documents/SynthMaster and start Logic ( i have 10.3.2) in my case SynthMaster FX was not validated while startup Logic. When inside Logic go to PluginManager and valdate the Synthmaster FX from there. So far Sythmaster is working like a charm. Preset changing no problem. Anther issue i run into. At first i tried to open Synthmaster in a existing Logic Project wich causes crashes. After opening a fresh project Synthmaster opend just fine. Had this issue with some other plugs as well. Firstly Thanx..
This synth overall whilst capable, isnt my cup of tea.
But its nice to try it out ,unrestricted ya know!!
Working flawlessly here too Win7 64bit ABL FL12.
i genuinley dont understand all the "Kerfuffle" over installation/usage..
Very straightforward..
Id stay offline and disable a whole heap of services prior to running my daw anyway..


ive not the most powerfull pc and im constsntly having to use cpu saving tricks etc etc
And disabling my connections completely ,alongside a host of services not needed for running audio,

Aside from the obvious reasons
Does have an influence over performance overall!

I guess for PC it works fine but NOT for Mac!! At least at the moment, and if you can't use your saved/previous presets from version 2.6, with this one 2.8....so what the hell!

If you have installed 2.6 follow the instructions on the previous page and remove your old stuff prior to installing.

It is working fine for me on a Mac 3.1 running osx 10.11.6 & Logic Pro X (latest).

If I like it I might buy it while it is at a sale price.

Actually I’d like to buy it!, but I need to make sure my pervious saved presets from version 2.6 would work!

I’d really like to know why when I tried to install it yesterday, I opened my DAW and I immediately got a pop up window saying SynthMaster2.6 can’t be found! Version 2.8 was listed under my “Plugins tab”, but my session was already made with 2.6, so I couldn’t do anything, cause this synth wasn’t there! Then soon after my DAW crashed!

If 2.8 version would overwritten the 2.6 version in a good way…then I wouldn’t get that window, saying SynthMaster 2.6 can’t be found, right? I could just open the new SynthMaster 2.8 and everything was there. But no, it didn’t installed right, my 2.6 version was gone!! And I spend hours deleting every fu… SynthMaster file in my Mac and had to do a complete fresh reinstall of 2.6 version!

So if someone can assure me that I won’t have ANY problem buying 2.8 version, installing it and then be able to use my saved 2.6 presets,
I’d sure do it!!

FOR MAC USERS :

Ok try this, delete and reinstall, put the key inside the folder like it is write BUT DON'T OPEN your DAW.
Delete first the file "SynthMasterConfig.txt" inside Documents/SynthMaster/Config.
Now start your DAW, open SynthMaster but DON'T DO ANYTHING !
Close it now and restart your DAW.

Now you can use it.

Works perfectly for me !

But i'd really like to buy this, if i knew for sure that all my 2.6 presets would be accessible again.

hi folks, thanks for this good sounding beast. but it doesnt work. i put the key file in my document sythmaster with and without rename and i dont use internet, but it shrieks anyway the beast...
i deinstall and i think to buy this synth...

I have this synth but I'll not recommend anyone buying it or using it for that matter. Ergonomy-related things are still unsolved (for example if you load a wavetable, it is not marked in the browser and you have no idea in which folder is located so browsing is a nightmare) and soon the developer will cease introducing fixes or features as he's focused on upcoming version 3. He also started developing One, a less capable synth in modulation area but more capable in the oscillators area which is also unoptimized (gui with problems, some concave/convex adjustments must be made with opposite dragging in various areas of the GUI. I am personally tired of half-finished products. I have two buggy synths each with it's own set of very annoying lacks in ergonomy department. There are still red guiding lines on the GUI (used by the GUI designers to make the skins) FFS. I stopped using them for new projects
