'Binary Information

Please note: These plugins are released as ARM-only AU (Audio Unit) versions.

This decision was made because AU validation passes consistently and reliably under this architecture.
While we also tested VST3 builds, they proved stable only within Cubase.
The reason lies in how different DAWs handle plugin validation and security checks.'

If you only mention ARM, that doesn't rule out VST3.

and for those who ask where are presets, Eventide literally has a preset page so all their customers can download presets, from their site of course https://www.eventideaudio.com/presets/

they update them as well from time to time

Are those for the plugins or mostly for their hardware? I just remember last I looked, as I own a lot of the Eventide plugs... was a bit unclear... and historically have made my own or tweaked existing... but cool, thanks for the heads up.

I was finding these interesting, since i have these running on my windows machine, but lost interest when i realized it's only AU. I only use plugs that allow me to load the same project on windows and macos, and that is only possible with VST. AU does not allow portability between different operating systems (since there is no AU in windows), so it's a no go for me.

Recommend to use the Uninstall if you already have any of these and then install.

Based on the install instructions though, it's a problem if you have legit licenses for Eventide products, because the instructions advise you to delete Eventide folder in Application Support, which of course has support info for my paid versions.

Just don't remove the products you own in that folder, and you'll be fine.

I'd love to know you're sure about this. I have the same issue & haven't gone ahead with installing until there's more clarity provided. Any more insight you (or anyone else) can share with us would be very gratefully received. I installed the previous Intel versions & there haven't been any issues, I'd obviously remove them but thought the release notes were maybe saying delete that whole folder that also contains my legit plugs.

I own a fair amount of legit Eventide stuff, and I just copied my user/lib/application support folder for Eventide as a "just in case", and everything is working just fine for me on mchipped Sonoma latest.... these new releases, and my legit, logged onto my iLok etc, .... everything is fine.

But if I was going with another teams releases that may have been approached differently etc, I would definitely remove those myself, as I don't know why you would need it anyways, as this has it all doesn't it? But you said you would do that regardless, so no need to caution you, just perhaps for other users here...

But legit and this work just fine hand in hand.

Just to say... I did it! Great advice & I thought I'd thank you again & share here for anybody else who might be faced with the same situation. I made sure my VPN was on to be really careful lol, I backed up the user/library/application support/Eventide folder like you. I actually deleted the original as instructed by the team. I removed all Eventide plugs except the legit ones, installed what I wanted (most of them) but obviously NOT the stuff I paid for. Opened Logic & tested the new plugs but not the legit ones. Closed Logic & put my legit support files into the new support folder. Opened Logic & tested the legit plugs. All good!!! Just 1 little issue is that the only version of Blackhole that shows is the (no MIDI) version, strange but not a problem. As for Blackhole immersive, I just left the previous Intel version active as many people here have said the new ARM version doesn't work. I hope this is of use to people & would like to give a HUGE thankyou & much love to hidera, anonymous, TEAM GUISEPPE, HoMeCracKeR, HCiSO, MORiA, the audioz team & all others who do such great things for the Mac community here

I haven't tried it in Logic yet Londoner2022, but it works fine in Ableton 12 for me... (latest Sonoma)

It's sad to see these 'anon' releases, posted as anon purely because they are trying to avoid the issue at hand (those that know, know).

The logic of not posting a proper release, with all formats Intel + ARM is a strange one. Same for all of these ARM only, AU only iLok releases. The danger of releasing 1 arc + 1 format without doing it properly is that loops will be closed. So please, if you are going to release more at least do it properly...

Personally, I’m just grateful for any kind of release - whatever form it takes. Calling this anything less than a ‘proper’ release feels a bit off to me. It’s AU and M1 native - what’s not to like? I’d much rather have something solid like this than nothing at all.

Ilok versions have felt like the holy grail for ages, and regardless of the level of protection Eventide uses, it’s brilliant to see these gems available in any format. I already own quite a few, but they’re pricey - and the demo periods always seem to run out when I want to revisit something.

So for me, this is a perfect extended demo window before Black Friday rolls around. I’ll be trying them all and grabbing the must-haves.

Big thanks to the anon releaser - pretty sure I might know who you are (though I could be totally wrong)… but either way, thank you a million times over! And I'm pretty sure that is the majority view.
