Does anyone know how to completely eradicate a previous install of Native Instruments from their computer? Kontakt Portable will work for 1 day and then somehow the original installation of NI (long since uninstalled and folders deleted) will keep coming back when I open a VSTi in Reaper and will override the portable to say I can only use a demo version.

Edit: After more investigating, I've learned it's basically impossible to wipe NI from Windows. However, by using the "Install" tool that comes with Kontakt Portable, I was able to generate a second instance of Kontakt in my Reaper VSTs, and as long as I identify and use that one (just have to ignore the NI version), everything still works.

You need to find the original Kontakt vst or vst3 and delete it, somewhere in your vst or vst3 folders. Reaper is likely still seeing it.

Beyond u've achieved to bypass the annoyin' issue, if you want -someday- to deeply clean the garbage left by previous Kontakt versions (beyond the obvious vst/vst3 folders), you could research this way 👇🏾

Assuming your previous one is the 7th, check;

%ProgramData%\{CA3808D1-C1A9-4F41-8C8A-CAAFA3CF2EAD} ---> NI creates many of this kind of named folders inside ProgramData, carefully check for those to wipe off.

%userprofile%\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt 7 ---> if your docs folder isn't default located just browse it.

(*) Pay attention to the .ras2 and/or .ras3 files present inside the Public Documents environment, between so many evolving Kontakt versions many people reported issues like you've experienced, perhaps worths try to dive in those files searching for the word "Kontakt" through Notepad++ or any other text editor.

Kontakt has ZERO libraries. I have 90 Legit libraries. Do they need to be cracked libraries? I have Komplete ultimate legitimate (Hard drive install) no Komplete license.

File, Options, Manage libraries, added libraries, they appear. Kontakt is empty. Close Kontake, Reboot, kontakt is empty. Drag from libraries manager to Kontakt its an 1980s Mac hand icon, nothing drags, nothing happens. kontakt is empty.

Try to check your system, perhaps too many background processes, or something related to you current Asio drivers. Not only here, many reports that works flawlessly.

Kontakt 8Portable.txt:

"By default, libraries are added only to the classic browser (except for factory content). This behavior can be changed in the Library Manager settings:
Libraries > Manage Libraries in NKS Browser"

If I "Buy Output Exhale" - will the official version work seamlessly with "Kontakt 8 vKDanilov" ?

In Exhale Requirement it says - " Please note Native Access is required for the activation of our Kontakt based instruments "

Hey I don't know why but this kontakt 8 uninstalls every time I restart my PC. All my libraries are working and everything is fine when I go to use it, but once I turn off my pc and turn it back on there is this big problem there. I've never had it before. Does anyone have a solution?

After using this a while and leaving my DAW (Cubase) open when I came back to try to work on my project my DAW was non-responsive and could not save project or exit Cubase and had to 'end task' and believe this Portable version was the cause of the issue. After changing back to bobdules everything seems to be working great again. Cannot confirm this but those who installed maybe able to test further

Is there a way for projects created in Kontakt 7 to be recognized by Ableton Live using Kontakt 8? I installed Kontakt 8, but the Kontakt 7 instruments do not appear in the new version.
