After installing all my Kontakt Libraries have gone into DEMO mode.

I uninstalled previous versions of Kontakt and deleted all regkeys etc.
I only installed vst and vst3, should they be in the installer default location?
I installed vst into Proram files/common files/ Native Instruments and
vst3 in Program Files/Common Files/VST3

Hi Bobdule, thanks for reply. The key is there in the registry. BUT there is no Kontakt_Button.exe on my whole system. Checked it via Everything tool. So how to get that Kontakt Button file ?

Edit: Ok, its packed in the patcher. I just unpacked it. Thanks it works now.

DigitalAge, any chance you installed the Kontakt program to a non-default directory? That's what I did, and I too couldn't find Kontakt_Button.exe. Thanks for your tip about finding it in the patcher, though.

Uninstall previous versions


1. First uninstall Native Instruments Kontakt X (from Control Panel > "Uninstall a Program" applet).

After uninstalling ;

X= your version number(s)

2. From "%PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center", delete "Kontakt X.xml" file.

3. Remove these folders (entirely):

- %PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt X
- %PROGRAMFILES%\Native Instruments\Kontakt X
- %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt X (64-bit Windows only)
- %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Native Instruments\Kontakt X (64-bit Windows only)
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Native Instruments\Kontakt X
- %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt X
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\Native Instruments\Kontakt X


4. Keys to remove from Registry (use Regedit):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt X

(optional - normally they was deleted by the uninstaller)

you can still use revo, but it is even not needed.

x86 is not used since 6.6.0
multi out kontakt files are from kontakt 5

it need nothing to clean and can be installed directlly over any older version, as usual.

about the update: they corrected nothing relative to the regedit missing key.(introduced in 6.7.0)

without it kontakt will still crash if used alone. it need to open native access or kontat 6.6.1 to generate this key.

I am a bit slow ... a fresh "virgin install" - selected only VST3 install with "Kontakt 6.7.1 Setup PC.exe" - then launched "Creative Tools 1.5.0 Setup PC.exe"
Then launched the "Kontakt6.7.1 Patcher.exe"
This is where it first looks for AAX, then looks for "Kontakt.DLL" and asks me to navigate to that file... but I cannot find this file anywhere on the system (only have C: drive).
What am I doing wrong ?
