the presets in the previous version comes in sbf (Soundbank) format, 1 file for each soundbank.

this version, the presets come in spf2 (Single Preset) format, but nicely organized into folders of dev/brands. Thanks V.R. I LOVE IT SO MUCH THIS WAY!

If you install on top of the previous version, most likely you will get duplicates because it wont overwrite the previous preset banks.

Also it is installed into different folders in the VST location, also duplicates ddl. Most likely DAW like Reaper wont find the dll because it will prioritize what it found first.

Copy your old presets folder elsewhere, uninstall, then do clean installation. Then copy back you favourite soundbank to the newly created preset location. I just checked, 99% of the previous version soundbank is present in this new release.

It's awesome and I like that now I can see how many presets are in the bank.
Did the last version have album art? Alonso Sound, Maarten Vorwerk didn't have a pic so I just added his Spire cover lol funny his face is there now. Pretty easy to do and luckily you can select all presets and do it once.

I do wish the devs would allow the arp speed to be freed up, and to assign controllers to the arp speed, and anything else than can't have a controller to be able to have one. Other than that this is still one of the best soft synth.

7Zip is really good at compressing those presets. Try to RAR these and you get almost 1.5 GB.

I love V.R releases like this. It saves us a lot of time. But interestingly I do design my own sounds, always, but also, I like a good starting point - saves time you could spend cooking or taking your dog out, or just something.

Had to delete my old spire dll or it would show up as 1.5.6
Also had to use my old working index file or it would scan and then show me nothing when finished.
Nice organization of presets into subfolders etc. Better than what I was expecting from previous spire big banks.
I'd say I've got similar with 950 sbf Spire banks and it takes up 393mb.
This uses spf files and takes up 2.8GB.
I do like the spf file organisation though as the menu shows how many presets are in the bank/folder compared to sbf which will show the max number of presets even if the bank only has 7 presets in it.
Everything seems to work.

I rescanned multiple times but it still gives me Index file error. I even tried it running Ableton on admin mode :(

It's the workspace data base file. Some reason I had a problem with using the workspace file this installed but luckily i changed my bank presets folder name before installing so I had my old workspace file which I copied into the new banks folder then was able to rescan and it updated it to all the new folders.

Its deleting all exist banks. I knew its V.R's shit habit thats why before install i copied banks folder, renamed some banks and put JPG file for testing. Installer deleted all banks but JPG file is there.

I got this working after getting the Data Bass error message.

1. Installed the program with presets. The program was installed in my hidden roaming folder so I moved all the files to a different location. (My Documents). This over wrote my original Banks folder.

2. I opened tSpire in my DAW and under options, In the synth, I changed the workspace directory to that location.

3. I also deleted the workspace.db file.

4 I then reinstalled the program without the presets

5. On opening Spire I registered it by pointing it to the comm_spire.lic file

6. Now working for me.

Change your Banks folder name before installing if you don't want to risk over writing presets and to avoid double ups, but most are in this V.R pack and it is organized extremely well.
And that way you also keep your old workspace data base file.

After some hours working without success (error 11) I could find a v1.55 symlink that worked fine. It s a nice product with a wide range of possibilities/sounds.

i installed,but dosent show up in cubase.I install in c,program files,steinberg,vstplugins.
But it dosent show when i launch cubase,and rescanned too.
i went to the folder and there is spire 1.5 x64 file folder,i opened it and the .dll is in there,i copied the .dll to thevstplugin folder to see if it would show up then,but makes no difference.
anyone any suggestions?
