In terms of final result for end user, no difference. I didn't released that one in official scene,
cause it was based on roddy20 patch and not all my work. Since I didn't released it in scene, R2R did their own release as no scene release was available until now.
Anyway, both works ok ;)

EDIT: I see now in the nfo they coded a special patcher for it this time,
that's classy ;) Yet to finish download

Still can't get why they didn't released any info about it.
WTF, that hardware its a piece of history. Chances waves one is a piece of something else, but not even mentioning

AbbeyRoad doesn't develop plugs on its own anymore.
They were pretty damn good, when iLok1 was cracked I used on each and every track
the Brilliance Control EQs, they sounded very good to enhance top end.
Sadly now the brilliance control is sold by softube (iLok2), but they discontinued TG12413 Limiter, mastering bundle and RS124. All pretty good products

agreed, that was great stuff, terribly orphaned. got a lot of great mileage out of them, too bad they are left in the 32bit rear view mirror….

Hey copylefter Abbey Road Brilliance pack is developed by Softtube since a few months.
Unfortunately, they are on iLok 2 so I doubt we'll see 'em any time soon.

I know it's not the right place, but:

What's the difference, in terms of essential features (EQ, Compressor, Reverb, Limiter, Delay, and Multiband dynamics) between FabFilter and Waves? And about performance?

If anyone can offer me a north (in a nutshell), I thank you in advance.

Sorry any inconvenience

Great AudioSex question. Not to be brazen or a smart ass in any way, just like different foods have different tastes, the end result is to be full or satisfied. Whatever you choose to eat is up to your liking. YOUR liking. Same applies to these plugins.

That rabbit hole is deep, so that's my "north" for you.

Thanks, mate.

It was more or less what I wanted to know (not necessarily technical comparisons but a holistic look though).

Agree 499. Whole different beasts.
Also, there are more than 100 plugs in Waves bundle, which one to compare? And for which use?

I prefer FabFilter on everything if you ask me, ProMB is just great, kicks in the ass all C4 C6 etc. imho. ProQ2 is best EQ (digital and proud of it, let alone more or less good emus) ever, always imho. ProL together with Elephant is at top of my limiters chart too.
The only one I don't use is ProC, just cause I'm used to other compressors and have my go-tos...

Anyway, here you have everything for free to try and choose yourself, a pretty good chance ;)

Very grateful for the words and attention, brother. Arigatõ.

It was the kind of way that I was looking for because sometimes you test a lot of things but doesn't test as it should and ends up finding that the software/plugin is bad. But when you have a clue of someone, the path becomes shorter. Time is a precious thing, no?

I don't like to get testing. I'd like to pick one and learn all about them to then to test others.

Thanks

And that's the best way to do it my friend. You might end up being a musician instead of a collector, an infinitely greater pursuit. Why not use the knowledge and experience of the community to direct you, that's what we're here for. I highly recommend dropping by AudioSex, excellent forum that you would no doubt enjoy.

catalyst: truer words not spoken much on this forum… lots of collectors and hoarders here… i think the best times of my life were when i had 2 outboard pieces of gear, one sampler, one synth, and 2 tracks of audio to record… you find a way to make it work, and you have to spend the time…. advice helps, but everything we are all doing with music is "subjective" at best, so you have to spend time with your tools to find your voice. But if absolutely helps to have someone perhaps point you in the right direction….

Better off asking this question in the other blog.

The short of it is Fabfilter has a short and sweet list of great tools to get you creating, tracking, mixing and mastering. Unique UI, Algorithmic based plugins that do the job and sound great. Waves is the media industry standard for Music, TV, Film, Radio, Broadcast and Live Sound. No one has had a more profound impact with their array of plugins.
Waves native plugins and their extensive line of emulations from Fairchild, Neve, APi, SSL, etc., simply put Waves in another ballpark.
You can compare, It's still subjective in the end. I say, use what you like.
I use different tools to get the job done. Yes, I have my favorites and eventually you'll have yours. A good end product, is all that matters. Fabfilter and/or Waves are couple of excellent manufactures to help you achieve it.

Newmills,

Very enlightening. I probably would spend days searching and reading on forums to know about that.

Thanks

That TG-12345 is like a phantom, no info on waves website, youtube or gearslutz. I haven't installed it because it says it's not compatible with 9.2 and I'm afraid it will break my Patchwork configurations on previous mixes.
