Why do the Focusrite plugs always ask for access to your contacts info?

They try to retrieve license info from Keychain Access
I noticed now, it happens only on Logic (10.0.7 here).
Ableton and PT doesn't ask for it.
Just check Always give access at first time it pops up
and it won't bother again. The serial check is patched anyway.

Thanks a lot for the upload. BTW It didn't ask me for any info. I have Logic 10.7 blocked like you guys suggested with little snitch. But i didn't uninstall the previous version first maybe that made a difference.

Yes I know, but I find it so odd that it wants to have anything to do with your contacts list. The nerve of it!

Edit: Actually it was my confidential keychain it wants in to. Even worse.

Yes, pretty strange too, 99% of plugs stores license info
in .plist in ApplicationSupport/Preferences or in proprietary
hidden files in root or user directory.
Sincerely I didn't looked at it too much to see how when and where
it get license info from disk, it's a ridiculous protection, take less
time to crack than the time Hopper needs to disassemble it.

On an 'on topic' kind of thang.... does anyone "like" these plug-ins? I've never found myself using them and wonder if anyone has a secret about where they fit in a mix when no other compressor does the job.
We can't dance, we don't talk much, we just ball and play, then we move like tigers on vaseline

Tbh, no.
The reverb is an epic crap imho.
I like more midnight, but the only focusrite plug
I liked for real was the Fortè suite.
That is discontinued
