If you are a musician who uses computers as part of your process, likely you've thought to yourself that you wish a music application did something that it didn't do. With Max for Live it's now very possible with some effort you could actually create that feature, instrument, or effect yourself. In this sense, Max for Live represents the ability for Ableton Live users to extend Live in any number of customizable ways.

On the flip side, many artists who work in graphical audio/visual programing environments like Cycling74's Max/MSP have likely thought to themselves that they wish they could leverage sequencing, preset management, and time sync of more standard music applications such as Ableton Live. Max for Live represents the ability for these Max users to integrate their patches directly inside of Ableton Live to do just that.

This file works in the K'd version of Ableton Live 9.1 permanently.

This is kind of pointless as you can just download this free from their website and it works exactly the same way in Live

ALL versions of Max 6 work for Live (k'd or not) permanently. The standalone always has a 30 day demo but we don't need that for Max 4 Live anyway.

There's always two sides in the coin: one is the ego, whose only purpose is to always react to others words; the other is the non-ego, that always longs to learn something from anything. Grimm could have choosen the second and see what Catalyst was in fact trying to tell him (which was quite obvious to anyone here with a normal common sense). Look inside your Ableton Live ... You can download and install it from there if you're intelligent enough and Ableton has not changed their polices ... Look at the first post in this thread for further information.

Maybe i do something wrong but when i open ableton live 9, i see only the 3 folder and nothing inside...

Can somebody help me to do work Max for Live ?

Running k'd version 9.1. Max Live is installed and in my applications section. In Live I have it set in preferences for the Max 6.1 folder from my apps folder. But the only thing that shows up in Live are 3 empty folders. What am I doing wrong?
