Ahhh, my K friend, you say that BUT the more we keep NOT paying for stuff, the less money they have for R&D.

I bought Izotope Ozone 3 in an actual shop (they had to order it and a week later I had to cycle 3 miles to get it, haha! OLD SCHOOL!! It felt a lot better than a download, even a paid for one. I got a colourful BIG box too, but no printed instructions).

But you know, I use all this stuff here as TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. It's hard to evaluate something with a white noise burst every minute. I ended up buying EZ DRUMS too but should have bought Addictive Drums. Whole new league for sitting in a track and easily EQ-able. I have tight-arse funk to a totally convincing John Bonham with AD drums.

XLN (Addictive Drums) are kind enough to give away the basics of the basic kit (pretty much all you need if you layer your drums) for free, forever. You get a small kit but it's an awesome kit. I owe them my money.


Oh and Sylenth will get my money too, shortly, and also Massive (maybe), even though I totally hate NI and how Massive works (and the stupid way all NI stuff works). Stuff from NI is guaranteed to annoy me during a production. Nothing else does. Not even a drunk guitarist.

All those I mentioned had a good 3 month (1 year?) run on Logic 9.1.1 and I keep coming back to those ones. Gotta pay soon or I'll feel like a c*nt.

Huge fun to try out all this stuff PROPERLY, so thanks to you and all the K's.

Oh and Sugarbytes Effectrix is more useful than is imaginable - on my list of stuff to pay for, hence supporting R&D and better stuff later.

I WOULD say AraldFx Stormgate (au) but it's free. It negates any need for bass drum side-chaining. I have it that running on 22 tracks. It is tiny cpu and simple.

Oh and Guitar Rig (bloody NI again) sounds a billion times better than all the other amp+cab sims. Actually useable rather than (overly realistic) other crap you have to wrestle into a useful thing [big problem with guitars - very hard to record the impact of loudness].

RTAS works great in Protools 9.03 HD (OSX 10.6.8). Have not tested Protools 10.3.2 HD but will later tonight. If you get the 'spinning ball' when trying to open it remember all Izotope products have this issue now and again and you will need to delete the file 'crash reporter' found in Library/Application Support/Izotope/Crash Reporter

Works great! Like iZotope says, there's actually a version that's included with Ozone 5 Advanced (you have to hit the "Meter" button on the Maximizer window to display it), but, for some reason, it stops whatever audio is playing when you do this. I can only verify this happening with the last version of Wave Editor. This probably has more to do with Ozone 5 just being wonky. No such problem with Insight, all meters work great!

For PT10 users, it works, you just have to remove the AAX version of the plugin (tested OSX 10.8.1 PT 10.3.2)

PT 10.3.2, ML 10.8.2, doesn't work RTAS. Still show autorize window
